I had bought the 256 USB C flash drive last year and finally got around to using it. It worked and moved the files but...found it was formatted to 32GB. Checked the label and the order, I had ordered the 256 correct and label matched 256 as well. Tried to check size through explorer and tried to reformat but still was only 32 GB. Used my expertise and used command prompt and found yes it was 256 but it was only portioned to 32GB and had to erase partition, create new, did a full format and then got it to work with the full storage as intended. Works great but a little upset at this mistake on the company's end.

I like this flash drive for the adapter USB-A what lets use this flash drive in all kind of equipments with USB type A and C. Works very well in my iPad Pro 2018 and have more read speed than Samsung say and that's so cool, more than 300 MB/s (I have the 128GB version) but is poor in write speed with no more than 40 MB/s. The parts keep in place and don't feel like plastic cheap. Great Flash Drive Samsung, but if the write speed where greater 90 MB/s this will be a excellent equipment. Maybe for the next version.

I have had this for over a year now and find it to be my favorite flashdrive. I like the versatility of being both C and 3.1 friendly. The challenge with this is the plastic housing which cracked - so now I have to wrap tape around it in order for the 3.1 adapter to stay in place. Figuring out a solid metal housing would be better. Being able to load 256K of data on it is a huge plus. And it is reasomnably priced. I even bout another as a gift for a friend and she and I both use it va lot,

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this flash drive recently with the hope that I will get a comfortable speed of recording and reading. Connected to the USB3.0 port, formatted in NTFS, in order to be able to download large files as a result did not get not only no write speed - 27.26 MB / s, but also a very low reading speed of 44.38 MB / s, instead of the promised 300 MB / s Just before I bought a 128GB USB flash drive, there's also a low speed, I thought I would buy Samsung and get the promised speed, but my expectations did not come true. In addition, there are too many parts: an adapter, a cap and a flash drive itself. And everything is not connected with each other. Could have given even a lanyard to connect the cap and the flash drive. One more question: does Samsung not know that 99% of users use phones in their cases, so USB Type-C just does not get to the port! Absolutely nothing the thing, money thrown to the wind!

This is the best flash drive and fastest one I've ever had. It took minutes to transfer thousands of pictures and music. I was surprised at how fast I was done. this has slower write speeds than another samsung USB-C key (no longer sold on the website) but had only 64 GB max. On different machines USB 3.1 capable, the best write speed this unit delivers is in the range 48-53 MBps. The previous unit showed 135-142 MBps while writing. As far as read speed goes, it is so and so at 130 - 145 MBps.

I've been using this flash drive for a few days and am very happy with it! The speeds are as advertised, maybe even a tad better. I tested using dd on my Macbook and got 328 MB/s reads and 38.3 MB/s writes. And with the dual connectors, I can easily transfer data from my old Macbook to my newer Macbook. Very satisfied.

Altogether a nice idea, but it is very easy to to loose the USB A adapter, should have been part of the main body with 2 caps instead.... Very slow write cycles, read super fast. Takes hours to use it as a backup disk. Lots of better and cheaper options in the market.

After around 10 uses the tip, which is lined with a cheap plastic, broke apart and got lodged in the usb-c port of my 2018 MacBook Pro. cables weren't seating properly into the port, so I brought it to apple and they used tweezers to yank out the pieces.

The overal desing looks OK, but there are some issues with it. I like the ide aof having both usb-a and usb-c in one device, in elegant form factor like this one. But as already some review mentioned, the device build quality is not that strong. I plugged usb-c connector to laptop (HP elitbeook 735 G6), and apparently this laptop has some tigher tolerances on their usb potrt or what, simply the connection is stronger than in some other devices, and while pulling the flash-stick out, I broke it. The usb-c connector stayed in laptop, and the plastic cover detached from rest of plastic body... (sorry I have no photo). If I knew this vulnerability, perhpas with more careful pull I could prevent it (or use some tool other tool for help, not just bare hands), however still I consider this rather poor design. Later on I removed that separated usb-c pasrt from laptop, and glued it to the rest of plastic body with the glue... With some careful use the flash is still normally usable, but one has to be extra careful, when pulling the flash out of usb-c, especially if it is the one with firmer grip. Also right from the beginning I was wondering, why Samsung opted for such a strange approach, that the black piece is used as conversion from usb-c to usb-a. Why instead did't you just use the middle part as fixed body with usb-a on one side, and usb-c on other side, and from sides just use plastic covers. This would minize the need to move that conversion items, so I would say improve live time of the product overall, and just would be somewhat more natural design in my view.. So long story whort: I like toe overal design.size/form/look of this product. But is has the issues, see above. I think if you adapted suggested design, that you have just one middle part with both connectors from each side one type, and then just some plastic covers on both sides, that desig would be somehwat better. Also make sure that connectors can withstand some more aggressive pulling (perhaps make the body internals with some metalic scelet), ant it would be pretty cool product. Sadly right now it is rather mixed impression. (I am not evaluating/discussing speed/performance, because that is not that important for me usually. Overal for my occasional use the performance is absolutely acceptable)
