  • What is Samsung Cloud?

    Samsung Cloud is a service that helps securely store your Samsung Galaxy data in the cloud, allowing you to access and sync the same information across all your supported Galaxy devices. Even if you lose your phone or reset your device, your properly stored data can stay secure in the cloud and can be easily restored to a new one.
  • You can access Samsung Cloud on your Samsung Galaxy device as follows:
    • • Go to Settings > Samsung account > Samsung Cloud
    • Turn on sync or backup as needed in the Samsung Cloud app.

  • The following items can generally be backed up to and restored from Samsung Cloud:
    (You can also see the Backup/Restore menu on your device to check these items.)

    • • Phone: Calls and message history
    • • Messages: Enhanced messages, multimedia messages and text messages (Some large messages may not be backed up.)
    • • Contacts (saved on phone): Contact information such as contact lists, email addresses and business cards
    • • Calendar (saved on phone): Events and tasks
    • • Clock: Alarms, world clocks and timers
    • • Settings: Accessibility settings, ringtones (excluding default ringtones), Samsung Keyboard options, Wi-Fi settings, registered Bluetooth devices, face recognition settings, fingerprint settings and Always on Display settings
    • • Home screen: Apps and widget layouts, wallpapers and Samsung DeX settings (excluding default wallpapers)

  • Temporary Cloud Backup is a service that allows you to help securely store your data, such as photos, videos and files, with no storage limit for up to 30 days. Temporary Cloud Backup and traditional Samsung Cloud backup support different backup items, and do not affect each other.

    Temporary cloud backup supports the following items in addition to the existing backup items supported by Samsung Cloud:
    • • Applications (Samsung apps + third-party apps)
    • • Photos
    • • Videos
    • • Audio
    • • Documents and files

    • * Temporary Backup is available only for data stored on the device. It cannot back up data stored on external storage such as an SD card, USB, etc.
    • * Availability of Samsung Cloud and supported items may vary depending on country, network provider and device model.
    • * The Temporary Cloud Backup feature is provided only on devices with T OS or higher.
  • Enhanced Data Protection is a feature that aims to provide stronger, more secure protection for your Samsung Cloud data. This feature uses end-to-end encryption to protect your data and store it securely in Samsung Cloud. This means your encrypted data is designed to only be accessed on devices that support Enhanced Data Protection,

    To enable Enhanced Data Protection, follow the steps below on your device:
    • • Go to Settings > Samsung account > Samsung Cloud > More > Settings > Enhanced data protection
    • • Go to Settings > Security and privacy > More security settings > Enhanced data protection

    • * Enhanced Data Protection is available only on devices with One UI 5.1.1 or higher, Q OS or higher that support Samsung Cloud backup and sync. You can check the list of trusted devices in the detailed settings for Encrypt backup data or Encrypt synced data. Support will continue to expand to more devices and features over time.
