Samsung Electronics Artificial Intelligence evolution is on display at the Auckland Home Show, giving Kiwis an understanding of a world of innovation and seamless living across devices. This is an impactful experience that will give Home Show visitors an insight into making life better and simpler through AI.

Smart homes are getting even more intelligent, with essential home appliances becoming more intuitive and connected thanks to AI, meaning that your home experience becomes more seamless. New Zealanders are able to get an understanding on how AI appliances are able to unlock new opportunities by managing their home more effectively and carrying out the laborious chores in a smarter way.

Not only do AI-equipped appliances enable us to manage our homes in a smarter way, but through the power of the Samsung SmartThings1 App, they can connect with each other for improved and simplified usage and control. The latest AI-enabled appliances offer improved performance so you can enjoy more while doing less. Meaning a new era of convenience which can save you energy (and money) and offers more personalised features than ever before.

Samsung’s 2024 appliance line-up represents the pinnacle of AI integration. Designed to significantly ease the burden of household chores and allow you to get back to what really matters.

The new Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo™ — an All-in-One washer and heat pump dryer — is the first of its kind in New Zealand, setting a new standard for laundry efficiency. AI Wash and Dry2 is an advanced system that uses a range of sensors to optimise both washing and drying for each load, freeing users from having to contemplate over the optimal settings for each cycle. The washer also features a Flex Auto Dispense System3 that automatically dispenses the ideal amount of detergent and fabric softener for every load, skipping the hassle of adding detergent to your wash every single time. AI Home4, a 7-inch LCD display that acts as an intuitive control centre for managing laundry, allows users to enjoy a simple washing and drying experience.

  • 1Each compatible device must be connected to Wi-Fi or other wireless network. For interoperability through SmartThings, all the devices should be registered with a single Samsung Account.
  • 2AI Wash & Dry's detection and sensing capabilities are based on our deep learning models trained using predefined set of data and may yield inaccurate or incorrect results. New datasets may be introduced to our learning models from time to time to enhance its accuracy. A turbidity sensor operates for all weights, while fabric sensing operates for 8lbs and under. Actual results may vary depending on individual use. To prevent wear, wash like fabrics together.
  • 3Expected number of loads: Detergent compartment can hold general detergent for up to 17 loads. Flex compartment can hold one of the following: softener for up to 19 loads, general detergent for up to 15 loads or specialty detergent for up to 36 loads.
  • 4Does not mean all services available on the AI Home are AI or generate information or outcome using AI. The services/features that use deep learning models are limited to [Smart Control, AI Wash & Dry, Voice enabled with Bixby]. The learning models may be updated time to time and may generate incomplete or incorrect information. Messages with cycle suggestions are displayed on the control panel or a smartphone with the SmartThings App.

Samsung’s AI technology extends to appliances beyond the laundry, as well. The 636L AI Family Hub™ French Door Refrigerator is the primary control centre for all things food. Featuring a 21.5-inch LCD screen, users can organise like a pro with enhanced communication, entertainment and food management. Using an internal camera5, AI Vision Inside6 can help identify up to 33 fresh food items, assisting in managing your shopping list. It also recommends recipes via the Samsung Food platform on the external screen, which can help reduce food waste and assist with healthy living choices.

  • 5Red light will turn on when camera is working. User's appearance may be captured, but surroundings other than food item will be automatically blurred.
  • 6As of March 2024, AI Vision Inside can recognize up to 33 food items like fresh fruits and veggies. Items need to be scanned 1 at a time. If the food is not recognizable, it may be listed as unknown item. AI Vision Inside cannot identify or list any food items in the fridge door bins or freezer. It recognizes food items based on an on-device smart food management system which combines food detection and classification models to help identify food items. Learning models may be updated periodically to help improve accuracy.
