With its PCIe® 5.0 interface, the 9100 PRO offers advanced performance, productivity for multitasking and extensive compatibility of expanding consumer experiences in laptops, gaming PCs and game consoles.

 

The 9100 PRO is expected to be an effective solution for laptop and desktop PC users who need faster access speeds for parallel data processing workloads, especially for professional creators handling AI-based content. Enhanced Performance and Improved Power Efficiency

 

-       Supports PCIe 5.0 interface, which is twice as fast as the previous generation PCIe 4.0

-       Delivers sequential read speed of up to 14,800 MB/s and write speed of up to 13,400 MB/s, offering enhanced performance of up to 99% compared to its predecessor, 990 PRO¹

-       Random read and write speeds also get a boost with up to 2,200K IOPS and 2,600K IOPS, respectively

-       Power efficiency improved by 49% compared to its previous model through enhanced heat management solution²

 

Overheating Prevention, Expanded Storage Capacity and Broad Device Compatibility

 

-       1 terabyte (TB) to 4TB models are integrated with 8.8mmT heatsink, enabling easier thermal control and preventing overheating. Also complies with the PCI-SIG® D8 standard.³

-       Offers 8TB model with 11.25mmT heatsink. The 8TB model is the first to be offered from Samsung’s consumer NVMe SSD lineup and its ample capacity is expected to help provide a variety of gaming experiences as well as potential opportunities for next-generation game development and content creation.

The 9100 PRO will be released sequentially worldwide in four capacities of 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB. The 1TB, 2TB and 4TB will be available for purchase at Samsung.com and other retailers starting from March 18, and the 8TB model will be available from the second half of 2025. The manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRPs) for the 1TB, 2TB and 4TB models are NZD $329.00, $549.00 and $999.00, respectively.
