A video shows the various benefits of SmartThings with 4 different character groups living in a roof-less, wall-less, transparent structure that changes into different atmospheres to fit each group. As the Smart Plug starts the automated morning routine by turning on the coffee machine in the kitchen, the text "Good Morning automated at 7am" appears. A man wakes up in the bedroom while his wife is still asleep to go into the kitchen to prepare breakfast. While preparing breakfast, the man starts his laundry machine remotely using his smartphone. The text "Start the washing machine with Smart Control" appears. The woman is still sleeping when the automated blinds open. The text "Wake Up automated at 9am" appears. As the woman wakes up and enters the kitchen, their smart fridge screen shows a laundry notification that reads, "Cycle completed."The story shifts to another man who takes his helmet and backpack and leaves the house with his dog. After they leave, the SmartThings Motion Sensor turns off all devices as a text appears that reads, "No motion detected in the house." As he rides off on his bicycle, he receives a notification on his phone and a text appears that reads, "Get notified when devices turn off." The story shifts to a woman working in an office. She gets a notification on her phone and a text appears that reads, "Get notified when noise is detected." She checks what's going on with the 'SmartThings Cam' back home and sees through her phone that it is her cat has accidentally turned off the TV by pressing the remote control while grooming. The woman sees this, laughs, and later comes back home and pets her cat. For the last group, 3 women, who seem to be close friends, walk into a house. As they walk in, the path lights leading to her door and other lights outside light up as a text appears that reads, "Automate lights to turn on when you get home." Once inside, they stand in the dark for a moment until the home owner takes out her Galaxy and taps a button on the SmartThings apps. As the lights inside, the TV and other home devices turn on to make the mood livelier, a text appears that reads, "Turn on Party Mode in a flash." Suddenly, a fourth friend enters the home in a panda costume and all of them laugh and start dancing. A final text appears that reads, "Stay connected, make life effortless."
