I’d been wanting to add some extra storage on my PlayStation 5 but it was overwhelming because there’s so many different companies making them now. I went with the Samsung because I have a lot of their products already and have never had any problems at all. The part I was nervous about was the install itself, but it was beyond easy and there’s a ton of videos online lol. If your on the fence just buy this. I’ve already moved around 200 gig and let me tell you it’s super fast!! I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this strictly for my PS5 as it doesn't come with enough space out the factory so I purchased the Samsung 980 pro / with Heatsink and absolutely lovee it , now I can download all the games I want on my playstation 5 and not have to pick between 3-4 of them to have on the system in turn my PS5 has all it's memory available so it can perform just that second quicker which in the gaming world is a lot of time , I highly recommend this product to anyone especially ps5 owner... Also I love Samsung and try to get all products Samsung when available

Once the PS5 was back on it recognized the SSD right away. Formatting the drive took less than a minute. Once formatted, it showed a true TB of storage. This more than doubled what I had. Speed clocked in a bit over 5600mb a second. Over the minimum recommended for the PS5. Moving files from the default SSD to the new drive was easy and fast. Once moved, the PS5 accessed them with no problem. Ran just as well as if they were on the built-in SSD. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking to expand their storage space on their PS5. Impressed with the speed. We do a lot of large photos and they pop up very quickly. We did install a drive intensive game and there is no lag time. I would recommend this drive not only for the small foot print but for the ease of installing and the lightning fast speed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was warned that these devices fail, however this has been so far the most stable most reliable NVMe I have used IV tried the cheap route and lost a lot of data. I have tried crucial and same experience lost data. So I said I'll go Samsung I use all Samsung devices now from tvs and bray players to all home appliances and they have never failed me and neither has this storage device. Only recommendations I have is the 1TB just isn't large enough for the games these days get the 2TB device

The data speed and pre attached heatsink meet the requirements extending the PS5 storage. Once installed, I transferred games from the onboard storage and because of the high speed the 70gb moved took almost no time. While playing games installed to the SSD I am unable to tell any difference between the onboard storage and the Samsung SSD, games load fast and play very stable. The only issue I experienced was updating the firmware for the device. This requires temporary installation into a pc with an open M.2 slot prior to install into the PS5. I would recommend this to anyone with a PS5 and anyone who is looking for additional fast storage for your pc. I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest opinion.

It was a very easy install and the gaming system formatted it with ease so I could put it to use. The drive definitely exceeds the requirements of the video game console and I was able to transfer all stored files to the NVME drive very quickly. As I play my console now, I have yet to notice a difference as it works just as well with my new storage device as it had prior. The games run very smooth. I would definitely recommend to anyone with a PS5 as it is a great way to expand storage, eliminating the need to delete games on the system we all wish could stay. The heatsink portion of it is a little confusing to me. I average around 45-50c when using this M.2 drive when my other drive which runs the operating system averages 35-45 without a heatsink. I'm no expert so I can't really why or how.

I have to tell you that the First thing that was important to me was the SSD being BACKWARDS COMPATIBLE... Sure it is a PCIe 4.0 but it works just fine in a PCIe setup with NO PROBLEMS!! Then there is the R/W SPEED..... AWESOME!!!! Look... it comes down to this.... go with a NAME BRAND YOU CAN TRUST!!! You will not be sorry you did!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pretty excited to get my PS5 internal storage upgraded to the fast Samsung 980 PRO w/ Heatsink PCIe® 4.0 NVMe™ SSD 1TB. The process itself is pretty easy and I would recommend anyone who is looking to do that install to watch a YouTube video and see how it is done (just do a little search). I decided to do a fresh install on a brand new Sony Playstation 5 and followed the steps outlined in the video. I am glad Samsung added a heatsink to this drive as it definitely keep this drive running for a long time. Heatsink will also help with game load times as well as the processing internally. I find the PS5 console initial load times are exceptional and game loading and switching applications are as smooth as butter. I think in the future I might get a 2Tb Samsung SSD with heatsink and be set for another year or two. I will definitely recommend my fellow gamers to get this new drive in and enjoy the next gen gaming experience. I've received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion on.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I acquired a PS5 Disc Version in January of 2021, I knew I would eventually want to expand the storage capabilities within the PS5 for my current gam. With the Samsung PRO w/ Heatsink, I don’t have to store everything locally. After some research, I determined that the Samsung 980 PRO with Heatsink was the best match for my needs versus competitors. After setting up the PS5, updating it to the latest software, I was able to install this M.2 Solid State Drive (SSD) quickly. The formatting process took only 10 seconds. The SSD will allow for less power draw, less heat, easier to cool. The PS5 recognized it upon next boot, recognized how fast it is, and then let me format it so it could be used with the system. The other great feature is this is an add-on component internally vs. having a device connected to an external USB drive. I would recommend anyone who is purchasing a PS5 to get this immediately and save yourself the hassle! I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest opinion.
