I own 3 of them, I use one for photos, one for video editing and another is plugged into my PS4 to store extra games. I highly recommend the T7 it's extremely fast, small, light, and sleek. It's just as small as my tiny mouse.

i just timed it, because i didn't want to exaggerate. it took me 2 minutes and 37 seconds to unlock the thing with my finger print. that is absurd when the iphone can register your finger print in a fraction of a second. while i wish i could say that i love it, it really isn't worth the extra cash to get something that is finger print locked if it takes ages to actually access it. there's no change in light or anything to tell if its even trying to read my fingerprint and is just all around disappointing. oh, and let's not forget you have to install a small piece of software in order to unlock the device. which brings with it its own problems. it's a fantastic idea, but really poor execution. i'd recommend not getting the touch version since it is practically useless.

the features of this ssd are advertised prominently by samsung. if you are looking at the ssd, you know what you want and what you will enjoy about it. unfortunately such a piece of hardware is harmed by frequent disconnects. when i try to stream music or videos from the device, the content frequently freezes. some days i can get by this, but most days it's completely unusable. in order to use streaming content i have to copy off the hard drive to a pc and use it that way. i have tested this ssd with 3 different windows 10 pcs and it displays the issue with all of them. sometimes while i'm exploring the file system it will even simply lose connection and then recover several seconds later, but this is usually not a problem. the real problem is with streaming content. buyer beware.

It's compact size allows for easy carrying around, which is one of my biggest concerns when it comes to external drives. The fingerprint scanner also gave me reassurance in the security of my data. Do not waste your money if you are an Apple user! Not working with Apple silicon I bought it a while ago but not able to use fingerprint security which software is not working either not been improved by Samsung according to the new technologies! Very disappointed at all!

I bought a 2TB Samsung T7 Touch drive. I couldn't be happier with the build quality and performance of the drive itself. But the software is unfortunately not on the same level. I am using Mac and I have not tried it on Windows so the following is related to the macOS support software: - "SamsungPortableSSD_1.0" is really a bad application name and sticks out like a sore thumb in the list of applications - please just call it "Samsung Portable SSD" - There is no information about how to fully uninstall the software - The application lacks the normal menus that is standard for just about any macOS application which makes it look unfinished and, frankly, unprofessional - There should be a setting to disable the application from launching when connecting the drive (I know it works by keeping the finger on the sensor while connecting but it is a bit cumbersome) - There should also be a setting to control the brightness of the LEDs (assuming the hardware supports it) In the absence of a solution to the above I am contemplating disabling the encryption and just use it as a USB drive. It's a shame because this drive could be so much better with some improvements to the software. I hope to see some software updates later on.
