Who is AURA?AURA is Rappid Response (Proprietary) Limited, trading under the name AURA. AURA is registered security provider who has a network of service providers, who provide security and emergency medical response services through a technology-based response platform known as the AURA Platform.

Who is AURA to Samsung?AURA is an independent entity and in no way affiliated with Samsung. AURA and Samsung have partnered together to provide a participant to the promotion with the opportunity to obtain emergency security and medical services. Samsung merely facilitates access to AURA’s services but in no way provides the services itself. In order for a participant to obtain the emergency and medical services the participant will need to conclude an agreement with AURA and accept AURA’s terms and conditions (including privacy policy).

How do I activate help in an emergency?Option ① Dial the Samsung SOS+ provided by AURA Toll Free number
In an emergency, dial the toll free SOS number using your registered mobile number. You will instantly be connected to the Interactive Voice Recognition (IVR) where you’ll need to key in (1) Security, (2) Medical or (3) that you’re testing. A callout will then automatically be created with AURA. You’ll be instantly connected to one of AURA’s 24/7 operators who will manage your emergency. You will also simultaneously be sent an SMS with a link to open a web page in order to share your live location. Thereafter a responder will instantly be dispatched and you’ll be able to you will see the estimated arrival of the responder, vehicle details around the responder as well as the ability to track them in real time.
You’ll also be able to chat with the operator via a two-way chat feature built into the web experience.
OR Option ② Use the Samsung SOS+ provided by AURA app
In an emergency, open the Samsung SOS+ app and press the “Medical” or “Security” button. It will automatically create a callout with AURA, instantly dispatching a responder and connecting you to one of AURA’s 24/7 operators who will get further details about your emergency. The app will share your live location, and you will see estimated arrival, vehicle details around the responder as well as the ability to track them in real time. -
What type of security and medical incidents can you use the AURA Service for? Do the incidents include crimes?The AURA service covers a wide range of emergencies, from medical issues like feeling unwell to injuries and accidents to security incidents, including crimes such as theft, hijacking, and violent attacks. AURA also encourages you to utilise the service proactively if you are feeling unsafe to prevent an incident from occurring or escalating. The system connects you to the nearest responder. In South Africa, a significant number of alerts are related to crime, making this an essential service in high-risk areas.

Will my security or medical callout be shared with or received by any emergency department or government entity, i.e., police or fire department, law enforcement, etc.?No, this is a private security and medical service designed to guarantee rapid response in an emergency. AURA operates independently from government emergency services, utilising a nationwide network of licensed, vetted and professionally trained private responders. While AURA may refer cases to public services if required, our primary mandate is to dispatch private resources.
When an alarm is triggered, AURA’s technology automatically dispatches the nearest private responder and AURA’s control room immediately contacts you. The responder uses an in-vehicle application to accept the emergency and to navigate to your exact location and implements an appropriate protocol to assist based on the type of emergency you’re facing. -
Where will I be covered? Is this service available everywhere?AURA has partnered with the best private security & medical companies across South Africa to ensure that you have help wherever you may be. AURA has a live coverage map to see specifically where the services cover you based on your location.
AURA currently covers all population centres including all major cities, towns and even certain informal settlements. -
What happens if I initiate a panic outside of the stipulated coverage?If you happen to trigger an emergency request outside of one of AURA’s coverage areas, AURA will still assist by contacting public services in your area. While response times may be longer, AURA never leave a panic alert without assistance.

Tell me about the AURA Responder network:AURA has over +3500 active responders across its platform, including private security companies and medical providers. The network consists of thousands of vehicles, such as security response units, and ambulances. All responders are strictly vetted and trained to ensure rapid, reliable emergency assistance.

What information does AURA require to assist someone?At a minimum, AURA requires your mobile number and your accurate location. Mobile numbers are needed in order for AURA to make contact with you to assist with your emergency. An accurate location is needed in order to dispatch a response to your exact location. It is beneficial and preferred to also have your name, surname as well as things like medical information, but this is not needed in order to be able to make contact with and dispatch help to you in an emergency.

Do I need Data and/or airtime to use the service?When you register for Samsung SOS+ provided by AURA, you will receive the toll free call centre number. You will however require data if you want to use the Location share link and track AURA live responder updates via the web link sent to you via SMS.
If you don’t have data, not to worry, the AURA operators will ask for your location over the phone when they speak to you. -
Is this a 24/7 service?Yes, the emergency service provided by AURA operates 24/7/365. You can rely on it to keep you safe at any time.

How do I test the service?You can dial the emergency number anytime and select (3) on the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) in order to test your safety. You’ll instantly be connected to AURA’s 24/7 control centre, but be rest assured AURA won’t automatically dispatch a responder during this test, unless you specifically requested it.

What if I do not answer the call with the agent or drop the call after requesting help?If you don't answer the call back from the AURA control room or drop it, and AURA received your location from the shared SMS link, the control room will still dispatch responders to your location based on the SOS signal. Your safety is top priority, and AURA will assume you are in danger if the call is not answered.

What qualifications do the AURA responders have to respond to emergencies?All Response companies and responders are fully licensed, vetted and trained to operate in the private security and medical sectors. AURA requires all partners to provide their certification and proof of qualifications before joining the AURA network.
AURA also ensure they maintain their certifications & levels of qualification. -
What does my subscription cover?Your subscription covers the costs for the AURA security response and medical response, including medical transportation.

What if I don’t have medical insurance?AURA will still provide an ambulance response, including transportation to the nearest most appropriate medical facility.

What if I already have a security companies monitoring my home alarm?No problem! AURA operates independently of your existing alarm monitoring service with the added benefit of being able to provide you assistance out of home, anywhere, anytime. The AURA platform connects you to the closest available responder in real-time, ensuring the fastest possible assistance when needed when at home or on the move. You can continue using your current security provider while benefiting from AURA's nationwide emergency response network.
