Why can I not receive calls from certain people on my Samsung Galaxy smartphone?

You won't receive calls from people if:

 

~Their number is on your auto-reject list, or

~Your phone is set to reject unknown numbers and they have hidden their number.

 

 

Managing your auto-reject list

 

You can block unwanted callers by adding their numbers to your auto-reject list.  If a call isn't being received, check your auto-reject list by following the below steps:

 

1. Tap Phone

~~If you see More, tap More

~~If you see three dots (for More), tap the three dots.

3. Tap Settings

4. If you are given the option to choose settings for either Call or Contacts, select Call.

If you do not see this screen, skip to step 5

5. Tap Call rejection or Call Blocking

(the option will differ depending on your model and operating system)

6. Tap Auto reject list or Block list

(the option will differ depending on your model and operating system)

6. Check whether or not the rejected number is in the Auto Reject List.

 

To remove the number from your auto-reject list, tap the checkbox next to the number to remove the tick.

(Depending on your device, you may need to tap the bin icon first)

Allowing unknown numbers

 

You can reduce nuisance and spam calls by blocking unknown numbers but it does mean that your device may reject calls from genuine callers who have hidden their number.

 

 Please be aware that the screens and path may differ slightly depending on your model or operating system. 

 

To allow unknown or hidden callers:

7.  Remove the tick from Unknown or slide the switch on Block anonymous calls to allow anonymous calls.
