    I had this problem too. You need to disable 'auto power off' in the 'eco solutions' menu. It's under 'system' when you press menu on your remote.

    hi there, i cant get my screen out of demo mode..lots of icons appear down the side and bottom. ive only had it 3 weeks! ive pressed, source, menu, gone to plug and play but its asked for a PIN number. i dont have one! please help!?

    From Samsung website: Store Demo mode is only intended for use in retail environments. If your monitor is accidentally set to Store Demo mode and you want to return to Home Use, follow the steps below: Press the volume button on the monitor. When the volume OSD is displayed, press and hold the MENU button on the monitor for 5 seconds.

    Well I'd have to say ' Yes ' as the inert gas in the screen needs to receive an electrical charge to produce plasma.

    we had a 5.1 surround system for our old tv, doesnt seem to work in the new tv??????/ any ideas why?
