The transfer to Apple devices fail or the devices are not detected by each other
To ensure compatibility with Apple devices, the receiving device must be set to Everyone (10 minutes only).
*Path : Settings > Connected devices > Quick Share > ‘Who can share with you’ > set ‘Everyone (10 minutes only)’ option
This feature will not work under the following conditions and on the unsupported Apple devices :
- Set to ‘Your devices’ or ‘Contacts’
- ‘Share with Apple devices’ is disabled
- Hotspot/Wi-Fi Direct is active
- Wi-Fi settings show and close a pop-up to stop sharing with Apple devices.
- Supported Apple devices: iPhone 8 (2017) or later / iPad 5th generation (2017) or later / MacBook (2020 or later)
※ For Galaxy devices receiving files: Settings > Connected devices > Quick Share > Turn On ‘Share with Apple devices’ and set ‘Everyone (10 minutes only)’ option for ‘Who can share with you’
※ For Galaxy devices sending files:
On Galaxy devices : Settings > Connected devices > Quick Share > Turn On ‘Share with Apple devices’, and
On Apple devices: Settings > General > AirDrop > Set ‘Everyone (10 minutes only)’ option
※ If Hotspot/Wi-Fi Direct is active, turn it off. If the Wi-Fi settings pop-up for sharing with Apple devices appears and stops, reset the ‘Everyone (10 minutes only)’ option on the Galaxy device. For unsupported Apple devices, check compatibility.
※ If Quick Share does not work after a software update, restart your device once to apply the updated policy.
While using the ‘Share with Apple devices’, the sharing speed is slow.
Because of OS/platform differences, sharing speed with Apple devices may be slower than transfers between Galaxy devices.
