When I turn on Privacy Display, the PPI, clarity, and brightness decrease on my Galaxy S26 Ultra. Why does this happen?
The Privacy Display is composed of Wide Pixels and Narrow Pixels. In Normal Mode, both Wide Pixels and Narrow Pixels are used.
Narrow Pixels are primarily utilized when the Privacy feature is activated.
When Privacy Display is turned on, the screen operates mainly with Narrow Pixels, which may make the PPI (pixel density) appear lower. However, the Privacy Display remains above the Retina Display threshold in terms of PPI.
※ Retina Display: A display with a pixel density so high that the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels at a typical viewing distance.
Additionally, when Privacy Display is enabled, the brightness indoors is maintained at a level comparable to Normal Mode. However, under brighter conditions, the brightness may appear lower than in Normal Mode because of the Narrow Pixel operation.
The Privacy Display is designed to protect user privacy while minimizing changes to image quality or brightness. You can use this feature with confidence.
