How to install a Nano-SIM card into the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7

The USIM card holds your subscriber information and allows your device to connect to your mobile network. If you're setting up a new Galaxy Z Fold or Flip device, or replacing your SIM card, it's important to insert it properly to avoid damaging the SIM tray. Please follow the steps below to safely insert a USIM card into your Galaxy Fold7 and Z Flip7.

Please note:

  • Be careful not to insert the SIM card upside down.
  • Forcing the tray into the device when the SIM card is not firmly in place may cause the tray to bend or break.
  • Always check the orientation before inserting it back into the device.

How to install a Nano-SIM card into the Galaxy Z Fold7

To insert a Nano-SIM card in your Galaxy Z Fold7 device correctly, follow the steps below:

Please note: The card tray is very thin. Ensure it is not bent or broken when you pull it out or insert it back.

Insert tray ejection pin

Step 1. Fold the device and hold it up straight so that the front and rear cameras are located at the top. Insert the ejection pin into the hole on the Nano-SIM card tray to loosen the tray. The Nano-SIM card tray is located next to the speaker on the top as shown in the image here.

Please note: Be careful not to insert the pin into any hole other than the SIM tray hole.

Pull out the tray

Step 2. Pull the tray gently from the tray slot.

Step 3. Place a Nano-SIM card on the tray with the gold-coloured contacts facing upwards and gently press the card into the tray to secure it.

Step 4. Insert the tray back into the tray slot.

How to install a Nano-SIM card into the Galaxy Z Flip7

To insert a Nano-SIM card in your Galaxy Z Flip7 device correctly, follow the steps below:

Step 1-1. With the device unfolded, turn it so that the rear camera is facing upward.

Dual SIM


Step 1-2. With the device unfolded, place it so that the rear camera is facing downward.

Step 2-1. Insert the ejection pin into the hole on the Nano-SIM card tray to loosen the tray. The Nano-SIM card tray is located on the right side of the rear camera as shown in the image here.

Step 2-2. Insert the ejection pin into the hole on the Nano-SIM card tray to loosen the tray. The Nano-SIM card tray is located on the left side of the front camera as shown in the image here.

Please note: Avoid putting the ejection pin into the microphone hole between the volume button and power button on the left side of the rear camera.

Step 3. Pull the tray gently from the tray slot.

Step 4. Place a Nano-SIM card on the tray with the gold-coloured contacts facing downwards and gently press the card into the tray to secure it.

Step 5. Insert the tray back into the tray slot.

Please note: The orientation of the Single SIM and Dual SIM models may differ. Please align the hole of the tray with the hole of the device to ensure a match.

Please note:

  • Use only Nano-SIM cards. Other sizes or modified SIMs may damage your device.
  • If the Nano-SIM card is not inserted correctly or an unsupported SIM card is used, an error message may appear on your device and may cause damage to the device.
  • Make sure the SIM card is fully seated in the tray. If it's loose, it might not be recognized by the device.
  • Do not insert the tray if it is wet. Always ensure both the tray and device are dry before installation.
  • The ejection pin must be inserted perpendicularly (straight in) to avoid damaging the internal mechanism.
  • You can activate the SIM card to use and customize the SIM card settings. Select the Settings and in the Connections menu, tap SIM manager.
