How to use 3D Auto Keystone and Real-time Focus on Samsung The Freestyle+
3D Auto Keystone and Real-time Focus are AI OptiScreen features on The Freestyle+ that automatically adjust the projected image without any manual setup. This guide explains how each feature works, how to turn them on or off, and what to check if they do not operate as expected.
What is 3D Auto Keystone?
3D Auto Keystone is an automatic keystone correction feature included in the AI OptiScreen Settings menu on The Freestyle+. It corrects screen distortion based on the projection angle and displays a square-shaped image on a wide range of surfaces, including walls, ceilings, curtains, and corners.
Note:
- 3D Auto Keystone is set to On by default.
- Supported features may vary by model and region.
How to turn 3D Auto Keystone on or off
You can turn 3D Auto Keystone on or off from the AI OptiScreen Settings menu. To change individual sub-feature values, set AI OptiScreen to Custom.
Step 1. Press the Home button on your remote control and go to Settings.
Step 2. Go to All Settings.
Step 3. Select General & Privacy.
Step 4. Select Projector Settings.
Step 5. Select AI OptiScreen Settings.
Step 6. Select 3D Auto Keystone.
Step 7. Select On or Off to set your preferred state.
Note:
- When AI OptiScreen is set to Auto, all sub-features—including 3D Auto Keystone—are automatically turned on.
- If you change any sub-feature value while AI OptiScreen is in Auto, AI OptiScreen switches to Custom automatically.
- When switched to Custom, each sub-feature is set to its Custom default value.
What is Real-time Focus?
Real-time Focus is an automatic focus feature included in the AI OptiScreen Settings menu on The Freestyle+. It automatically adjusts the focus based on the distance to the projection surface and delivers a clear, blur-free image in real time.

How to turn Real-time Focus on or off
You can turn Real-time Focus on or off from the AI OptiScreen Settings menu. To change individual sub-feature values, set AI OptiScreen to Custom.

Step 2. Go to All Settings.
Step 3. Select General & Privacy.
Step 4. Select Projector Settings.
Step 5. Select AI OptiScreen Settings.
Step 6. Select Real-time Focus.
Step 7. Select On or Off to set your preferred state.
What to check if 3D Auto Keystone and Real-time Focus do not work
If 3D Auto Keystone or Real-time Focus is not working as expected, check the following items.
Case 1. If the protective lens film is still attached, keystone correction and focus may not work properly.
Remove the film before using these features. If necessary, gently wipe the lens with a soft cloth. The lens is sensitive to dust, so handle it with care.
Case 2. Dust, debris, or foreign materials on the sensors at the top of the product can affect operation.
Use a cotton swab to carefully clean the sensors.
Cautions:
- Make sure the Samsung logo is facing down when placing the product.
- Do not project the light onto another light source or an obstacle.
- These features may be affected by external light, the distance between the projector and the wall, and the projection surface.
If the screen correction result is not satisfactory, adjust individual features in AI OptiScreen Custom mode on The Freestyle+. If the issue continues, we recommend updating your Freestyle+ to the latest software and, if needed, contacting Samsung Support for further assistance.
