How to use Wireless PowerShare on a Galaxy phone

Wireless PowerShare allows you to charge another compatible device wirelessly using your device's battery.  You can charge both devices simultaneously by plugging in your PowerShare compatible smartphone and then placing the other device on its back, or transfer battery power from your smartphone by placing them together.

Before you try the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps: 

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version.

Compatible Samsung devices

Wireless PowerShare is supported by all WPC Qi certified smartphones and Samsung wearable devices. 

Devices that can be charged by Wireless PowerShare:

  • Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Buds2, Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds Live, and Galaxy Buds Pro

  • Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch3, Galaxy Watch4, Galaxy Watch4 Classic

  • Galaxy S7/S7 Edge, S8/S8+, S9/S9+, Note8, and Note9

  • Galaxy Watch Active and Galaxy Watch Active2

Devices that can share power and can also be charged with Wireless PowerShare:

  • Galaxy S22, S22+, S22 Ultra
  • Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra

  • Note20 5G and Note20 Ultra 5G

  • Galaxy Note10, Note10+, and Note10+ 5G

  • Galaxy Fold, Z Fold2, Z Fold3

Share power with Wireless PowerShare

Here’s how to activate Wireless PowerShare and charge another device.

1 First, confirm that the phone with PowerShare is charged to at least 30 percent. Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the notification panel, then tap Wireless PowerShare to activate it.
2 Next, place the PowerShare phone and a compatible device back to back.
3 The screen will confirm once the devices are connected. Tap OK. If you pull down the notification panel again a message will show that it is charging the connected device.
4 When you are finished charging, disconnect the other device from your device.
Best practices for using Wireless PowerShare

Here are a few tips to use this fetures.

  • Do not use earphones while sharing power. Doing so may affect nearby devices.
  • Remove any accessories and cover being used before using this featur
  • Only devices that support the wireless charging feature can be charged using this feature.
  • Place the other device on the center of your device, with their backs facing. The location of the wireless charging coil may vary by device model. Adjust the devices to connect with each other properly.
  • To charge properly, do not move or use either device while charging.
  • The power charged to the other device may be less than the amount shared to it by your device.
  • If you charge the other device while charging your device, the charging speed may decrease or the device may not charge properly depending on the charger type.
  • The charging speed or efficiency may vary depending on the device’s condition or the surrounding environment.
  • If the remaining battery power drops below a certain level, power sharing will stop.
Setting the limit for power sharing

You can set the device to stop power sharing when the remaining battery power drops below a certain level.

Launch the Settings app, tap Battery and device care → Battery → Wireless power sharing → Battery limit, and then set the limit.


  • Charging is stopped to prevent draining of the Galaxy Z Flip3’s battery when its battery level is below 30%.
  • Depending on the type of accessories or cover being used, the feature may not work properly. It is recommended to remove any accessories and cover being used before using this feature. The feature may not work properly with other brand smartphones in certain circumstances and some devices may not work by their condition or limitation.
