Frequently asked questions

Unfortunately, there are restrictions for product registration. Only Samsung products are eligible for registration, and storage devices such as SSDs, accessories, and components that constitute the product cannot be registered even if they are Samsung products.

• Check if the product is eligible to register.

• Check characters that look alike. The letter "O" can look like the number zero"0" or the letter "S" can look like the number five "5." Take a closer look.

• Make sure there are no missing codes.

    - IMEI: 15 digits

    - Mobile/Tablet/Wearable device S/N: 11 digits

    - Other products S/N: 15 digits

• Please enter the serial number located on the product itself, not the one on the package.

• Verify that your product is genuine and not a counterfeit. Counterfeit products may have fake serial number, IMEI or model code.

We have prepared guides for your product, so simply click on the "How to find Serial Number or IMEI" button when prompted.

* Go to Product Registration → Click 'Register' → Click 'Enter serial number/IMEI' → Click 'How to find your Serial Number or IMEI'

Scan the QR code using the camera app on your Samsung device and follow the prompted instructions for registration. This feature is only supported on Samsung home appliances and non-smart B2C monitors. Make sure not to confuse the QR code for SmartThings.

When you connect your Samsung smart home appliances to the SmartThings app, they will automatically appear in the 'Unregistered Products' list under 'My Products'. Navigate to it and from there, you can register the product by just clicking the 'Register' button. Please note that OEM products might not be automatically shown on My Products when you connect them to the SmartThings.

Alternatively, you can choose to manually register home appliances in the SmartThings app, please visit this link for more information.
