What is Bixby 2.0 and how does it differ from Bixby 1.0?

Bixby is an intelligent voice service that helps you use the device more conveniently. You can talk to Bixby or type text.

 

Bixby will launch a function you request or show the information you want. It also learns user’s usage patterns and environments. 

 

Bixby 2.0 is a voice recognition technology developed through collaboration between Samsung's AI technology & VIV. 

It can serve various roles as a voice-activated personal assistant by working with a third party.

 

• Bixby 2.0 can provide services closely related to users everyday lives without requiring them to install an app. 

• Bixby 2.0 learns the user's usage patterns and offers personalized services.

Difference between Bixby 2.0 AND 1.0
1 Preference Learning : E.g., Lists preferred 5-star hotels at the top.
2 Selection Learning : E.g., Jumps directly to the previously selected hotel.
3 Favorite Services: E.g., Sets Expedia as the primary booking service provider.

When you launch Bixby for the first time, the Bixby intro page will appear. You must select the language to use with Bixby, register and sign in to your Samsung account according to the on-screen instructions, and then agree to the terms and conditions.

1 Press the Bixby key.

2 Select the language to use with Bixby. Then, tap Sign in to Samsung account and follow the on-screen instructions to sign in to your Samsung account. Then tap

If you are already signed in, your account information will appear on the screen. 

3 Read and agree to the terms and conditions and tap .
4 Tap and follow the on-screen instructions to register your voice.
If you set the voice wake-up feature, you can start a conversation with Bixby by saying “Hi, Bixby”
5 Tap to complete the setup. The Bixby screen will appear.

Using BixbyClick to Expand

When you say what you want to Bixby, Bixby will launch corresponding functions or show the information you requested.

While pressing and holding the Bixby key, say what you want to Bixby, and then release your finger from the key when you are finished speaking. Alternatively, say “Hi, Bixby”, and when the device emits a sound, say what you want.

 

For example, while pressing and holding the Bixby key, say “How’s the weather today?” The weather information will appear on the screen.

 

If you want to know the weather for tomorrow, you can say "Tomorrow?" while pressing and holding the Bixby key. As Bixby understands the context of the conversation, it will show you the weather for tomorrow as per requested.
