Samsung NVMe™ M.2 SSDs are compatible with laptops, desktops, and motherboards that support M.2 slots. There are various types of M.2 slots. "B-Key" enables SATA or PCIe NVMe™ SSD using up to 2 PCIe lanes, whereas "M-Key" enables NVMe™ SSD using up to 4 PCIe lanes.

The PCIe NVMe™ M.2 SSD performance with 4 PCIe lanes is approximately twice as high as that with 2 PCIe lanes, and most motherboards today support the 4-lane "M-Key" slot. This is a solution supported by Samsung NVMe™ SSDs, which work with various types of M.2 slots.

Samsung NVMe™ SSDs use "M-Key" to maximise performance by utilizing PCIe x4. They cannot be inserted into the M.2 slot with "B-Key."

Refer to the user manual or contact your system provider to verify if the specific type of M.2 (M or B Key) slot is available on your motherboard.

To start Data Migration, the source disk must be smaller than the target disk. Media data such as movies, music, and photos should be moved to other storage or deleted whenever possible. The Samsung Data Migration software (Samsung Magician Software) provides the features above for user convenience. However, users should prepare sufficient storage to transfer media files.

The Samsung Data Migration software (Samsung Magician Software) is designed to facilitate the fast, easy, and secure migration of all data, including the current OS version, application software, and user data, from the existing storage device (e.g., HDD) to a new Samsung SSD.

Samsung NVMe™ SSDs don't necessarily require a heatsink because they maintain optimal performance through Samsung's advanced design and manufacturing capabilities, along with integrated heat dissipation thermal labels.
In rare cases with high workloads involving transferring several hundred GB, however, performance may be suppressed to protect the integrity of the SSD using Samsung's Dynamic Thermal Throttling algorithm.
Additionally, external heat sources such as CPUs or high-power graphics cards placed in close proximity to Samsung NVMe™ SSDs can negatively affect the airflow around NVMe™ SSDs, resulting in performance degradation. Please ensure proper airflow around the Samsung NVMe™ SSD.

Samsung NVMe™ M.2 SSDs do not come with screws. This is because motherboard manufacturers usually provide standard screws and spacers by motherboard.

1. If the SSD is not properly connected, the system may fail to recognise the SSD. Replace the cable or reconnect it to a different storage slot.
2. Check the BIOS settings or slots before configuring the boot sequence for the OS.
3. If the BIOS of the motherboard is outdated, the PC may not support the SSD. Update the motherboard BIOS to the latest version.

Samsung NVMe™ SSDs use the M.2 (2280) form factor. M.2 is the industry standard, and Samsung NVMe™ SSDs are 22mm wide and 80mm long.

Samsung SSDs comply with the IDEMA (International Disk Drive Equipment and Materials) standards.
However, the difference between the actual capacity and the displayed capacity is due to the different methods of representing 1GB. To make it easier for consumers, the manufacturer expresses 1GB as 1,000MB instead of 1,024MB, but the calculation is based on 1,024MB when the OS calculates the capacity.

Ik heb deze Samsung SSD nu enkele weken in gebruik en het is echt een super ding! In vergelijking met mijn vorige SATA SSD's draait alles veel sneller. Laadschermen van veeleisende games zoals Cities: Skylines laden merkbaar vlotter. Ik had hiervoor twee SATA SSD's ingebouwd: een C-schijf en een D-schijf waar mijn geïnstalleerde spellen op stonden. Ik werd geattendeerd op de Samsung Magician app en via deze app kon ik mijn schijven mooi benchmarken. Mijn vorige schijf haalde in de app een 546 MB/s read en 515 MB/s write. Bij de nieuwe NVMe SSD haalde ik zo'n 3387 MB/s read en 3245 MB/s write. Dat is dus gewoon ruim 6 keer zo snel! Echt een wereld van verschil. Ik ben er echt super blij mee!

Zeer goede m.2 SDD. Het installeren ging zeer gemakkelijk en de PC herkende de kaart meteen, zonder dat een driver update nodig was. Na het installeren van Samsung Magician (aanrader) is het heel eenvoudig om de status van de schijf in de gaten te houden. Haalt bijzonder hoge schrijf en lees snelheden, erg fijn voor het archiveren van alle foto's van mijn camera en het daarna bewerken van deze data. Het geheugen is zeer efficiënt en stabiel tijdens gebruik, en word daarbij niet extreem warm. Het installeren van grote games gaat bijzonder vlot. Alleen de prijs is aan de hoge kant (thanks AI).

Deze Samsung 990 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD is lekker snel en bovendien heel makkelijk te installeren. Ik gebruik ’m zelf in een enclosure, dus buiten mijn computer. Met een klein ventilatortje erbij blijft hij mooi op temperatuur. Bestandsoverdracht gaat supersnel! De 1 TB is voor mij als videograaf wel wat aan de kleine kant. Werk je veel met grote bestanden, zoals video, dan zou ik zeker voor een grotere capaciteit gaan. Samsung is een betrouwbaar merk voor SSD's. Ik vertrouw erop dat deze schijf duurzaam is. Qua prijs is deze SSD net wat aantrekkelijker dan veel vergelijkbare modellen. Kortom: snel, makkelijk in gebruik en een aanrader!

De Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1TB bevalt tot nu toe erg goed. De installatie was eenvoudig en Windows herkende de SSD meteen. Daarna kon ik hem zonder problemen formatteren en direct gebruiken voor programma’s, games en bestanden. In dagelijks gebruik voelt de pc snel en responsief aan. Programma’s starten vlot en ook bij het kopiëren van grotere bestanden blijft de snelheid stabiel. Samsung Magician vind ik een goede toevoeging. Je kunt eenvoudig de temperatuur, gezondheid, firmware en prestaties van de SSD controleren zonder ingewikkelde instellingen. Mijn moederbord beperkt momenteel de maximale snelheid van de SSD, dus ik haal niet de volledige opgegeven prestaties. Dat ligt aan mijn hardware en niet aan de SSD zelf. Een klein minpunt: er wordt geen bevestigingsschroefje meegeleverd. Ik moest thuis behoorlijk zoeken naar een geschikt schroefje om de SSD vast te zetten. Verder ben ik zeer tevreden over de prestaties en het gebruiksgemak.

Ik gebruik deze Samsung 990 SSD als extra opslagdrive in mijn desktop, voornamelijk voor het installeren en draaien van games. Hij vervangt een oudere PCIe 3.0 Samsung 970 EVO en het verschil is goed merkbaar. Zonder expliciete benchmarks te draaien, voelt de schijf in het dagelijks gebruik ontzettend snappy aan bij het verplaatsen van grote bestanden en laden van games. De schijf wordt geleverd zonder heatsink; afhankelijk van je moederbord of behuizing is het dus handig om daar even rekening mee te houden.

Een fijne en snelle Samsung SSD die doet wat je ervan verwacht. Ik vond het installeren makkelijk en na de installatie werkt alles soepel en snel. Vooral bij het lezen en schrijven van grote bestanden merk je dat de snelheid hoog ligt. De SSD voelt daardoor als een goede upgrade ten opzichte van een oudere schijf. De prijs is wel wat aan de hoge kant. Ondanks dat ben ik tevreden over de kwaliteit en prestaties.

Een super fijne SSD. Vandaag de dag vallen de SSD prijzen niet mee. Deze is nog net betaalbaar, vind ik, maar je krijgt waar voor je geld. De geadverteerde snelheden komen ook dicht bij wacht in het echt haal. Ik ben zeer tevreden van deze SSD. Ook de Samsung Magician Software is zeer handig. Je kan uitgebreid je SSD testen & zien wat voor performance deze nu echt heeft. Een topper vind ik de 'Over Provisioning' instelling: Zonder problemen steeds minimaal 10% vrij houden, zodat de SSD optimaal functioneert. Hoe ziet deze er dan uit tijdens het gebruik? Fantastich! Installatie gaat super vlot en je kan meteen beginnen. Je moet natuurlijk wel weten hoe je een SSD installeert & hoe je deze net kunt partitioneren. Grote bestanden verplaatsen, films & foto's bewerken en gamen gaat allemaal zeer vlot. Ik kan zonder problemen super snel games opstarten terwijl ik nog andere grote bestanden heb openstaan & in bezig ben. Een aanrader!

De installatie van de Samsung 990 PCIe4 NVMe SSD in mijn computer was gelukkig binnen een handomdraai gebeurd. Tijdens mijn normale pc-activiteiten en multitasking merkte ik direct dat alles een stuk vloeiender en vlotter aanvoelde. Software start voortaan zonder haperingen op en dankzij de extreme snelheid zijn lange laadschermen in spellen verleden tijd. Zelfs bij intensief gebruik, zoals het draaien van zware AI-projecten en het verplaatsen van gigantische datasets, bleven de prestaties perfect stabiel. De SSD bleef bovendien opmerkelijk koel, waardoor de schijf ook tijdens langdurige belasting erg responsief reageerde. Om de conditie en de schijfgezondheid in de gaten te houden, biedt het overzichtelijke dashboard van Samsung Magician optimaal gebruiksgemak. Vergeleken met mijn vorige, tragere opslagmedium levert deze upgrade dan ook een absolute wereld van verschil op. Voor mijn technische hobby's is deze 1TB-schijf de perfecte balans tussen capaciteit en prestatie, wat het pc-gebruik dagelijks een stuk prettiger maakt.

Ik heb de Samsung 990 gedurende de testperiode niet alleen gebruikt voor normale dagelijkse taken, maar hem ook bewust belast met gaming, multitasking en grote bestanden. Juist als je een pc intensief gebruikt, vind ik het belangrijk dat een SSD niet alleen snel is op papier, maar ook in de praktijk stabiel blijft presteren. Tot nu toe ben ik vooral tevreden over de algemene responsiviteit. Programma's openen snel, bestanden zijn snel toegankelijk en tijdens multitasking blijft de pc soepel aanvoelen. Ook bij het verplaatsen van grotere hoeveelheden data merk ik weinig vertraging. Een functie die ik vooraf minder belangrijk vond maar uiteindelijk wel handig bleek, is Samsung Magician. De interface is duidelijk en geeft je snel informatie over de conditie, prestaties en firmware van de SSD. Hierdoor hoef je geen ingewikkelde tools te gebruiken om de opslag te controleren. De Samsung 990 voelt als een SSD die vooral gemaakt is voor gebruikers die hun pc daadwerkelijk intensief gebruiken. Voor een gewone kantoor-pc zou ik niet per se zo'n snelle SSD nodig vinden, maar voor gaming, grote bestanden en technische projecten vind ik de prestaties goed passen bij mijn gebruik.

Ik heb de Samsung 990 SSD inmiddels ongeveer twee weken in gebruik. De installatie verliep zonder problemen en vanaf het eerste gebruik viel me op hoe snel mijn computer aanvoelde. Het opstarten van Windows, openen van programma's en uitvoeren van dagelijkse taken gaat merkbaar vlotter. Waar de SSD voor mij echt het verschil maakt, is bij het werken met grote bestanden. Het kopiëren en verplaatsen van grote hoeveelheden data verloopt erg soepel. Wat daarbij vooral opvalt, is dat de computer ook tijdens deze zware taken gewoon responsief blijft. Ik gebruik mijn pc regelmatig voor meerdere dingen tegelijk. Ook wanneer ik grote bestanden aan het uitpakken ben en ondertussen andere programma's gebruik, blijft alles lekker vlot reageren. Ik heb daarbij geen momenten gehad waarop mijn computer duidelijk moest wachten tot de SSD klaar was. Juist bij dit soort multitasking merk ik een duidelijk verschil met mijn oude SSD. Ook Samsung Magician vind ik een sterke toevoeging. De software geeft een duidelijk overzicht van de belangrijkste informatie over de SSD. Zo kan ik de gezondheid, temperatuur en hoeveelheid geschreven data bekijken. Daarnaast kan ik de firmware controleren en indien nodig bijwerken. Met de ingebouwde benchmark kan ik bovendien eenvoudig de prestaties van de SSD controleren. Wat ik prettig vind aan Samsung Magician, is dat alles overzichtelijk bij elkaar staat. Je hoeft niet verschillende programma's te gebruiken om de conditie en prestaties van je SSD te controleren. Ondanks het intensieve gebruik blijft de SSD bij mij netjes op temperatuur. Ik gebruik hiervoor een normale SSD-koeler en heb daarmee geen problemen met de warmte ervaren.
