Apps do not appear on Samsung TV Smart Hub Home screen

Starting with 2023 Samsung Smart TVs, a Samsung account registration is required to use Smart Hub apps, services, and functions. If you skipped the Samsung account login and Samsung Terms and Conditions when setting up your Samsung TV for the first time, your TV will not be able to use Smart Hub apps. This includes apps such as Netflix and YouTube, as well as Samsung services such as Samsung Health. Your TV will only be able to use external inputs such as HDMI, and antenna tuners. To resolve this issue, you must log in to your Samsung account and agree to the Terms and Conditions on your Smart TV.

Note: This feature may vary by region.

You can sign in or create a Samsung account during the TV’s initial setup. If you skipped it during the initial setup by selecting Later on the account screen, you can register your account on the Smart Hub Home screen once the TV has been set up.

1 To begin, navigate to the Smart Hub Home screen, and then select the Set up Now, Apps, or app list button.

2 Select Start Setup on the pop-up to continue.

Note: If you skipped the network setup during the initial setup, you can register your Samsung account after setting up the network.

3 After launching the Camera app on your phone, scan the QR code on the Samsung account screen to log in to your Samsung account. Or, you can create a new account.

  • If your Galaxy phone is already logged in to your Samsung account, you can easily log in to your TV using the same Samsung account as your phone.
  • If you don't have a Galaxy phone or if your Galaxy phone is not logged in to your Samsung account, scan the QR code and create a new Samsung account on your mobile device to log in to your TV.
4 Follow the on-screen instructions to either sign in to your account or create a new account. You must agree to the Samsung Terms and Conditions. If you skip the Terms and Conditions step even when logged in to your Samsung account, you will be logged out of your Samsung account.

Note: If you forgot your Samsung account ID or password, visit the Samsung account website. The minimum age requirement for registering a Samsung account may vary by country.

When you log in to your Samsung account, you can enjoy various services and features, such as:

  • Watch movies or dramas using TV apps
  • Watching various channels such as news and entertainment on Samsung TV Plus
  • Content recommendations tailored to your preferences
  • Controlling devices with the SmartThings app
  • Use Samsung services such as App store and software updates
  • Downloading hundreds of free apps and receiving automatic updates from the App store
  • Searching for content with Bixby voice commands
