I have had to return a Samsung TV to the retailer due to a fault. It had Smart TV where could watch BBC iPlayer, Films and YouTube. Unfortunately this has been discontinued. And this is the suggested alternative. Will I be able to do the same with this TV?

Some say "Freeview, HD ready" and others say "Freeview HD Tuner". There is a distinct difference. Is this the latter?

I get the following HD channels bbc1 hd, bbc hd, itv hd and c4 hd. They are on channels 101,102,103 and 104

    Describe the issue

    Brad 2 years ago

freeview, hd ready means the tv has standerd freeview and the tv is 720p, but the other one freeview hd tuner means the tv is full 1080p and has the 4 extra channels for the hd and trust me they definatly do make a huge difference

I have a UE32EH5000K. The spec. says that it does not have an Ethernet connection but mine does and it connects to the network with no problem. But the TV does not support online firmware upgrades and does not support AllShare. Is there any use for the network connection at all?

Likewise I vave the UE32EH5000KXXU which connects to my router using Samsung's wireless dongle. But the AllShare program running on the PC does not see the TV. I assume that you have to download an 'AllShare' app to the TV for the PC to see the TV. Otherwise, what is the point of having a network connection?

    USB Hard Disk Drive

Hi, I have a 2TB HDD connected to my 32" EH5000 and it does eventually play films beautifully, it's the eventually bit that's the problem, loading the file list and navigating that list is soooo painfully slow, also it takes ages for the film to play/stop When the HDD is connected to my PC via USB the file list loads fast and navigation is fast as well Is there a fix for this other than a more expensive TV? :D Thanks in adviance Dave

The problem is the NTFS partition, I had your problem too, then I've formatted my HDD in FAT32 and file browsing and operation became fast. Take care that FAT32 partitions allow files size up to 4 GB, mkv files over this size must be cutted. Cheers.

Your PC, no doubt has loads of memory to deal with a large amount of files, where as the TV does not. Try loading a smallish selection of films on to a flash USB drive - stick that into the side of the set... and you'll see the difference in speed.... =] Mine loads pretty fast really with the above suggestion.

Why is there a different set of rear connectors on above units Can a dongle for WIFi be fitted to the UE32EH5000

A dongle for WIFI can be used via the 2 USB slots on this model and also has an Ethernet input socket too. When connecting Wireless Adapter, the screen pop-up appears directly to set wireless network.

Great confusion amongst retailers and potential buyers as to whether or not this TV has Freeview HD. Your previous answer states that it doesn't but I have now seen screen shots from owners apparently confirming that it does. Suspect you are currently missing out on a large number of sales.

As I understand it, to qualify as Freeview HD, it should be able to play IPTV, e.g. BBC i-Player, this set cannot do this and therefore does not qualify for the Freeview HD badge. However, I think it does decode HD signals, thus the confusion.

Irelands digital TV service uses MPEG-4 for the transmission of content and I need to know if this TV will be able to decode these signals
