Hi, There has been no confirmed dates yet as to when BBC iplayer will be made available on our new E series range. Samsung are working in conjunction with BBC to create the software necessary to make it available to our customers. We thank you for your patience in this matter.

Makes sure you don't have any strong lights behind you, Go into the menu and when you get motion control up press right to calibrate the motion control, this will test the background light and then you must get in front of the eye. after you have completed the setup hold you flat palm up to the tv and wave left to right two times and hold you hand steady in the middle and wait for 2 to 3 seconds, when you get the volume and channel move your hand to the volume up/down and clench fist to go up down.

I have just bought a 40'' ES8000 model. Tried to use the BBC i-player but it said I need to update the firmware. When checking the firmware version (2004.x), I discovered it is not the latest but I'm not able to update. I followed all the troubleshooting instructions but: 1- On the TV - The "software update" option is greyed out and when I click it, it says the option is not available. 2- On my PC - Can't find firmware update T-ECPDEUC 1010.3, on the Samsung website, which is supposed to be the latest. Downloaded the latest available firmware (2006.0) and installed on USB, following all instructions but when I plug it in (on the TV) I face the problem described in 1, above, and still can't update. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. M.A.

Hi, Please switch your TV to Source (TV) . Please allow the TV to be switched on for 5 minutes before attempting to upgrade software as it is greyed out for a period as a security feature. Thanks

trying to stream movies from my networked WD mybook to the ES8000 using the Twonky service. Drive is automatically detected and I can navigate though the folders and files on the drive easily, but the TV hangs "loading" the file for hours and hours. I can play the files if I run them off a USB stick so I know the file format is good... any ideas of TV setup that could cause this?

Hi Arpanet, I would advise you to use a USB 2 HDD with at lease 5400rpm and non raid, partitioned in FAT32 or NTSC. Thanks.

Hi, The only way to output the TV sound from SmartHub applications to your cinema system will be to purchase an optical to analogue converter. This could then be linked to your Digital Audio Out port on your TV and then wired to your cinema system using phono leads. Thanks.
