The stand on the 55" F8000 is the same width as the TV, which means the TV stand has to be the same width or wider. There are no TV stands the same width as this TV, and not everybody has room for a wider stand although the width of the TV would be OK. I would go and buy this TV tomorrow, with a smaller width stand (As 90% of all the Samsungs have) it would fit straight on my stand. What a shame I have to drop down in spec just because of the stand width. Are there any plans on a optional (Narrower) stand ?

The stand is as wide as the TV. If the stand seems too wide the TV itself is not ideal for those who think the stand is too wide. The stand in F8000 looks beautiful but some may still find wall-mounting ideal (if right TV furniture is not present).

It's a shame, bit of a design slip up there as many people will not but this TV because of the stand width. Personally I'm off to buy the F7000 doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between the two.

Hi Roger, At the moment there is only the original stand available for this TV. Thanks.

I have a Samsung BD-F5500 Bluray player connected to this TV via HDMI to the HDMI-ARC input of the TV. The digital output (TOSLINK) from the TV goes to a 5.1 external amplifier. If I watch HD TV (like BBC 1 HD freeview) the TV broadcasts 5.1 to the amp. However, if I watch a Bluray disk 5.1 is NOT output from the TV.

Hi Tim, Please ensure that the BD-F5500/XU audio output is set to PCM to be able to broadcast 5.1 to your amp. Thanks.

When I first hooked up my Sonos Playbar to my UE55F800, all was good in the world. The volume controls on the Samsung remote controlled the volume on the TV and did not display an alert message onscreen. That was until late May when the updated firmware (1102.2) was released. Now, every time I try to adjust the volume I am reminded of what I already know. Yes, the volume does get adjusted on the Playbar, and yes the message goes away after five seconds or so -- but I would prefer it not display at all. Please make this error message configurable in the menu so we don't have to see it any more. The previous firmware was fine and did not display this message. Failing that, is it possible to roll back to the previous version of the firmware? If so, where can I get it? It is not available on the Downloads page for this model.

Looking to connect my nx1000 samsung camera to my 8 series smart tv without the use of cables using the wifi on the camera.

Hi Paul, As far as I can see the camera has Wi-Fi but not Wi-Fi Direct. This would mean you will have to use a cable to connect this to your TV. Thanks.

F8000 connected to denon amp, on start up amp auto switches to tv (hub) via arc on hdmi 3 and requires manually cycling through the sources to detect the sky input. Any way to change this setting so it auto defaults to sky input on the amp? Possibly a question for denon but worth a shout here.
