How to play and listen to music with your Samsung Music Studio

Learn how to register and connect your Samsung Music Studio Wi-Fi Speaker, play music using Spotify Tap and other music apps, and set up multi-device configurations including Stereo and Group Play.

Samsung Music Studio connects and plays music seamlessly through the Samsung Sound app.

In this guide, we will show you how to play and listen to music with your Samsung Music Studio.

Please note that if you unplug the power cable and plug it back in while the Wi-Fi Speaker is turned on, the Wi-Fi Speaker will turn on automatically.

1. Install Samsung Sound App

1 You can install the Samsung Sound app by scanning the QR code on the product or manual, or by searching for "Samsung Sound" in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Option 1. Scanning the QR code on the product or manual

Option 2. Searching for "Samsung Sound" in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store

2 After installation, open the Samsung Sound app and tap Agree to begin setup.

Tap Agree to begin setup

2. Connect speaker in Samsung Sound App

1 On the Allow device search screen, tap Continue. The device will be automatically detected in the Samsung Sound app. Tap Add to register the device.

Step 1. Tap Continue

Step 2. The device will be automatically detected

Step 3. Tap Add to register the device

2 After registering the product, select your Wi-Fi network and tap Connect.

Select your Wi-Fi network and tap Connect.

Note: To set up Stereo Pair or Group Play, all devices must be connected to the same 5 GHz Wi-Fi network.

3 You can use the default name or assign a custom name. Tap Done to complete the registration.

Step 2. Your device is registered in Samsung Sound App

1. Play the music with Samsung Sound App

Tap Open music app shown at the bottom of the registered speaker.

You can enjoy music through 'Google Cast', 'Spotify Connect', 'AirPlay', 'Tidal Connect', 'Roon Ready', 'Alexa'.

Tap Open music app

Compatible with 'Google Cast', 'Spotify Connect', 'AirPlay', 'Tidal Connect', 'Roon Ready', 'Alexa'.

 

- To activate music app:

1. Enable the feature in the Settings menu.

2. Tap the Cast button in your music app and select the speaker.

2. Play the music with Spotify Tap

1 You can play the music using Spotify Tap.

Step 1. Launch the Samsung Sound app and select your Wi-Fi Speaker

Step 2. Select Instant Music Play

Step 3. Select Spotify Tap

2 Before using Spotify Tap for the first time, you need to connect the speaker through the Spotify app.

Step 1. Open Spotify and play something. Then tap the Connect device icon at the bottom of the screen

Step 2. Select your Wi-Fi Speaker from the list

3 Once this is done, double-press the music note button to start playback instantly.
Press once to play or pause.

Make sure all devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

2x press = Play your Spotify Tap playlist

1x press = Play/Pause

You can group multiple Samsung audio devices together using the Samsung Sound app.

Set the group as Stereo pair or Group Play depending on your listening preference.

Note: Your Wi-Fi Speaker must be registered in the Samsung Sound app, and at least two audio devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network at 5 GHz.

Grouping the speakers

You can set up a group manually.

Step 1. Run the Samsung Sound app on your mobile device. Tap the Linked icon on your main speaker

Step 2. Select the additional speakers you want to add

Step 3. Tap Set Stereo Pair or Set Speaker Group

Please note that:

  • You can add a maximum of 10 devices to a group.
  • Group Play is available only in Wi-Fi mode and does not support TV sound.
  • When the host device is connected to a TV, the group will be automatically deleted.

1. Group Play

With Group Play, you can play the same music simultaneously across up to 10 Samsung sound devices.

You can add not only Wi-Fi Speakers but also other types of Samsung sound devices such as soundbars to the group.

You can group Music Studio 7, Music Studio 5, and soundbar together. Place multiple Music Studio 5 units in different rooms to play the same music at the same time.

Note:

  • This is available on Samsung Sound devices that support Wi-Fi released year 2023 or later.
  • For previous year's models, update the device firmware to the latest version.

When Optimized Sound Field Suggestions appears, tap Group to create a group. You can play the music with multiple devices.

2. Stereo Play

Stereo Pair splits audio into left and right channels across two Wi-Fi Speakers of the same model, delivering a wider sound stage.

Only the same types of Wi-Fi speakers can be set as a Stereo Pair. For example, two Music Studio 5 units can be paired, but a Music Studio 5 and a Music Studio 7 cannot.

1 When Optimized Sound Field Suggestions appears, select a Stereo Pair. Check the left and right positions of the speakers, then tap Apply.

Step 2. Check the left and right positions of the speakers, then tap Apply.

2 A stereo set will be created. Please enjoy the music with a wider sound stage.
