What to do when your Samsung Galaxy device battery drains faster

Last Update date : 28.04.2026

Your Galaxy device may consume battery faster due to environmental conditions, background apps, or the condition of the battery. Follow the cases and solutions below to maintain stable performance and extend battery life.

Please Note: The battery is a consumable component. With repeated charging and discharging, its capacity will gradually decrease, and the reduced capacity cannot be restored.

Reasons why your Galaxy device’s battery drains quickly

Initial setup period

When you first start using your Galaxy phone, battery consumption may temporarily increase. This is because various apps and services are being optimised during the first few days. Once optimisation is complete, the battery usage will normalise.

Weak network signal

When your network connection is unstable, call quality and signal strength may decrease, which can result in faster battery drain.

How to reduce battery drain

1. Reduce battery drain by switching off unused functions and apps

Applications that use auto sync, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or GPS can increase battery consumption. Switch them off when they’re not in use.
