How to setup IR Extender cable in Samsung F series Smart TV?

STEP 1. GETTING STARTED WITH UNIVERSAL REMOTE SETUP

Before we start with Universal Remote Setup we need to know about the IR Extender cable and Smart Touch control.

a). Turn on the TV then press Menu from your remote control to get started with Universal Remote Setup as shown below.

b). Select System option from the Menu then press ENTER ( . ) key as shown below.

c). Now select Device Manager and press ENTER ( . ) key to get started with Universal Remote Setup.

d). Access the Universal Remote Setup option by pressing ENTER ( . ) key as shown below.

STEP 2. SEARCH FOR SERVICE PROVIDER

e). Control the device connected with TV with your Samsung TV remote. Turn on the connected device and select Start option using your Smart Touch control then press ENTER ( . ) key as shown below.

f). Connect the IR cable to the IR out port on the back of the TV and position the emitter near to the device that you want to control and then select OK to continue. The IR Extender cable relays signals between your TV and other devices.

g). Setup a cable, satelite, or IPTV set-top box to control with your remote. Select Set-Top Box to configure with TV and press ENTER ( . ) key as shown below.

h). Select your TV search provider so that you can control your set-top box with your remote control. To do so press ENTER ( . ) key from your remote to insert the name of your service provider.

 

. 

 

i). Enter the brand name and select Next using your Samsung Smart Touch control. Then press ENTER ( . ) key to continue as shown below.

 

. 

 

j). Select the TV service provider from the list available. If it's not on the list, select View More TV Service Providers at the bottom of the list. After selecting your service provider from the list press ENTER ( . ) key to proceed as shown below.

STEP 3. COMPLETING UNIVERSAL REMOTE SETUP

k). Select the TV port that the set-top box you want to setup is conneted to. After selecting the TV port press ENTER ( . ) key for Set-top box control test.

l). Press the channel up and down buttons on your remote to complete setup, if it changes the channel that means now you can control your set-top box using your Smart Touch control. Select Yes and press ENTER ( . ) key.

 

. 

 

m). A congratulation message indicates that the Setup is now completed. Select Exit then press ENTER ( . ) key start operating your connected device.

 

. 

 

NOTE: In Samsung Smart TV's of F series 6/7/8/9 models Universal Remote Setup can be established by using an IR extender cable and Smart Touch control. Once you disconnect the IR extender cable the Universal Remote Setup is unable to control external device. Plug it in again and start using.
