Eye Protection Mode is a feature of AI OptiScreen on The Freestyle+ to detect movement during projection, then automatically adjusts the overall screen brightness for a more comfortable viewing experience. Follow the steps below to turn Eye Protection Mode on or off and review how it operates.

Eye Protection Mode is one of the AI OptiScreen features that detects movement within the projection area through the built-in 3D ToF sensor on The Freestyle+. When movement is detected, the screen brightness is automatically reduced to ease exposure to strong light. The default setting is On. The feature can be turned off when needed.

Follow the steps below to turn Eye Protection Mode on or off.

Step 1. Press the Home button on your remote control, and Go to Settings > All Settings.

Step 2. Select General & Privacy.

Step 3. Select Projector Settings.

Step 4. Select AI OptiScreen Settings

Step 5. Select Eye Protection Mode.

Step 6. Select On or Off.

When Eye Protection Mode is turned on, the screen is adjusted through the following stages.

  • Before operation: The projected image is displayed at the current brightness setting.
  • Eye Protection on: Detection begins based on the sensor. When Eye Protection is enabled, the message "Protecting your precious eyes." appears on the screen.
  • Screen dimming: When movement is detected, the overall screen brightness is automatically reduced, and an ‘Eye Protection Mode is on’ indicator appears on the screen.
  • Return to previous picture quality: When movement is no longer detected, the screen automatically returns to the previous picture quality.
