I bought the Samsung SSD T7 for my Tesla Model Y to record and save all the dashcam videos and with the 2TB i dont think i ever run out of juice from this SSD. The reliability of this SSD is unparalleled. I've been using it for several months now, putting it through all smooth and bumpy rides, and it hasn't skipped a beat. I have also complete peace of mind knowing that my data is safe and secure with this SSD. The compact design of the SSD is incredibly convenient and fits in a corner of the glove box. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the Samsung SSD T7 USB 3.2. It has exceeded all of my expectations. Highly recommended!

This is a great solid and small storage device. I got my data uploaded in a blink, and I love the fingerprint technology. It is very simple to use: it stores your data and allows you to carry it on easily. No complex set-up features or other things, so I am very happy with this purchase. The fingerprint reader works unfailingly so you can be the only person who can access your information, but you could allow another person fingerprint to be used as well, your choice. Optionally you can just use a password, but that's not as secure. Interestingly this plugs into the USB port on my Samsung Smart TV and I can watch any MP3 based videos. Probably you can listen to MP3 music too but I haven't tried that

I bought this drive over a year ago and it has been performing wonderfully. The security system with the finger touch is amazing and is very beneficial. But the data that I have been story. The drive does not get too hot but does get a slightly warm. It is very nice and portable. As a precaution, I keep it in a secured case that is slim to carry. Backing up my phone onto. This drive is simple and fast. I wish samsung would include some type of an application to figure the health condition of the drive. None of the samsung memory cards or drive have failed, but would be a nice touch to make sure that over so many years they would perform great. This way, we can backup our data. Even further in case is needed.

Great portable drive, sufficient data transfer speeds and reasonable price. I own other portable drives, so when I decided I wanted more storage space, I had kept my eye on the "Touch" model because I like the ability to access the drive contents using my finferprints. I chose this over the Shield model that was also in consideration , I didn't have an absolute need for direct media storage. The ease of use with biometric login saving me time and hassle typing a password made it an easy choice. I had issues connecting it with my Android devices until recently, (Software update?) But works flawlessly now. Setup was quick and painless, the reader works well and I recommend this to anyone looking for a portable SSD.

The Samsung Memory T7 Touch is my far the best external memory drive I've ever owned! I travel for work and use my computer daily. I am able to load this up with all of my favorite apps, movies, shows, pictures and games and take everything I need with me on the go! It's amazing how fast and great transfer work on this. Unbelievable small, yet can store so much! Despite it's small size, it seems very durable. It was very simple and easy to setup. This is a very useful and extremely convenient product. I am very content and satisfied with my purchase!

I keep my kids pics and their school documents to transfer from one spot to another. I also keep work documents and payroll info on here. I know it's secure since only my fingerprint can access the information(we tried other fingerprints to make sure). It comes with the necessary cables to be able to connect to the computer to access the saved information. It runs on a SSD encryption which is super secure. It's also the size of my palm and holds 500 gigs! It fits in my purse for easy travel. This is definitely worth getting.

Terrible user experience! I received my T7 SSD several days ago. The hardware is good, but the software is poor. My system is macOS Catalina 10.15.3. I installed the Samsung Portable SSD 1.0 as the instructions on manual, but it cannot recognize my device and always shows 'DISCONNECTED'. I tried many methods to fix the issue, including downgrade the software. However,it is still not working. Without the software, the fingerprint ID is useless, and you cannot encrypt the device. All in all, don't buy T7 if you are using macOS!

Having the ability to securely store and transfer important files is a necessity for me. I love the security feature of this device, especially the option to use my unique fingerprint. The read and write speed is truly fast - I have not seen any delays or slowness with the device. Being able to watch the status with the indicator light is great, since I don't have to question if its working or not. It's internal and external stability are important for transporting it. The slim design also make its very easy to carry.

i just timed it, because i didn't want to exaggerate. it took me 2 minutes and 37 seconds to unlock the thing with my finger print. that is absurd when the iphone can register your finger print in a fraction of a second. while i wish i could say that i love it, it really isn't worth the extra cash to get something that is finger print locked if it takes ages to actually access it. there's no change in light or anything to tell if its even trying to read my fingerprint and is just all around disappointing. oh, and let's not forget you have to install a small piece of software in order to unlock the device. which brings with it its own problems. it's a fantastic idea, but really poor execution. i'd recommend not getting the touch version since it is practically useless.

the features of this ssd are advertised prominently by samsung. if you are looking at the ssd, you know what you want and what you will enjoy about it. unfortunately such a piece of hardware is harmed by frequent disconnects. when i try to stream music or videos from the device, the content frequently freezes. some days i can get by this, but most days it's completely unusable. in order to use streaming content i have to copy off the hard drive to a pc and use it that way. i have tested this ssd with 3 different windows 10 pcs and it displays the issue with all of them. sometimes while i'm exploring the file system it will even simply lose connection and then recover several seconds later, but this is usually not a problem. the real problem is with streaming content. buyer beware.

Looking for years for a convenient system to transfer photos from SD camera cards through Samsung cell and to cloud for safety. Finally, a simple and reliable system. Has great added security too. I don't enjoy taking a laptop on extended vacations, but want a reliable backup system with ease of convenience to transfer and save large RAW files. Thanks, with this & a small hub I can link all without an additional power device. Quicker transfer speeds than when using HDD drives. Love it.

This external SDD is so slim. I love it. It easily fits in my laptop bag. It's great that the device came with USB-C and USB-A in the box for those of us who haven't made the commitment to USB-C. It is also super fast, I transferred 2 TB worth of Time Machine back ups on to the device and it took less than hour. The figure print reader seems secure but the second time I plugged it and and forgot to touch my figure to it, I freaked out because my Mac then didn't recognized the drive. I like the feature and the reader is fast. I could do without the blue light, it is very bright and when time machine is syncing overnight I can see the blue glow from the device. It times out after a while but I wish there was a way to control this light through the app they make you download to program your fingerprint.

When I ordered my T7 touch I didn’t know what to expect. I have used several portable hard drives before but they were never very elegant or pocketable. However when I opened up the box I was speechless as to how beautiful this SSD is. It is very pocketable and fits in the palm of my hand. I have been using it for several days and just throw it into my pocket with my wallet. It has a beautiful brushed metal look that also will be very protective. I love the fact that the box came with both a USB-C and USB-A cable. I am able to use it with both my windows pc and my Google Pixel 4. Transfer speed is very fast and the fingerprint allows me to store sensitive documents and data without worrying about it being compromised. Overall I am very satisfied with the T7 touch and plan on continuing to use it everyday.

The drive really did more than I expected. It is much faster than any other drives I had and I bought more of these drives. Now they are going to replace all the other drives I have from other manufacturers. Small, flat and fits in a pocket nicely. No setup problems. Right out of the box it recognized my MacBook Air and was set to begin storing information. I LOVE it. Yes, I'd recommend it to anyone. I got 2 different colors to keep the individual drives easily recognizable.

Product size is compact and slim - perfect for everyday use. It very much feels like holding a chocolate bar. Reading and writing speeds are efficient enough to swiftly download and run AAA games. Transferring files between my hard drives was also seamless. I appreciate the addition of the fingerprint security feature, in the event that the item is misplaced or lost (the files are inaccessible until the device is unlocked by password or fingerprint).

It's actually crazy to me how small and efficient portable drives are becoming. I have used several Western Digital portable HDDs in the past and it was bulky and the fans were loud. Fast forward to a portable SSD that is roughly the size of a credit card and very light weight. It's very quiet and convenient to take with me. The read write speeds are incredible. The slight rubberized texture is also a nice feature to make sure I don't drop it easily

A few months ago I bought this to externally back up my phone so I would have a physical 'image', rather than all of my information in the cloud. As long as you have a partition that is not ntfs, you should be good to go on uploading your backup. I had to delete all of my information from roughly a 6 months' hiatus from backing up my device after malware downloaded itself on to the phone. It's no larger than a credit card and super portable.

I've had my Portable T7 2TB for 3 months and use it daily. It's compact size fits in my satchel easily so it's available quickly when needed throughout the day. It pairs quickly with my Galaxy Book Pro 360 and my Chromebook which are part of my everyday carry loud out. The pre installed software suite is actually useful and not full of bloatware. I would recommend this product for your everyday and long-term data storage and transport needs.

I bought this without knowing too much about it. I wish I would have picked up many more. This drive is the diamond, diamond star and still light-years ahead of the competition. Either I'm just buying bottom of the barrel with the competition, or this drive is really that great. After asking others how they feel, no. This drive is really that good. The speed alone is well worth the regular price which isn't really above the competition. This drive is rugged. Mine has dents all over it, scratched up. Had a fun trip through the washing machine, works as if Nothing happened to it. I wouldn't recommend anyone doing what I've done by accident to electronics. Just knowing that this drive had at least one succeed in living with that much things happening to it should tell you that your chances are much better with this drive than others on the market.

Like always Samsung delivers! Their portable ssd T7 Touch USB 3.2 500Gb in black has been a reliable, dependable solution for my storage needs over the past year. I never had one problem. The finger lock is the best. Having been robbed and some of my stuff found by police. My SSD T7 Touch look like it went through thr ringer. It was all cosmetic! they did not get in to my T7. I got this awhile ago, though I more recently got a T7 without touch locking and find myself using that one more frequently, often. There is a smoothness also to not worrying if you pressed the touch exactly right to unlock it, but it's still a cool feature, and a handy thing to have, especially if one wants to go traveling and feel safer about the protection of their data, especially if one is a creative type like myself.

Performed a Disk Speed Test with the Black Magic Design Speed Test Tool - on my new 2022 Apple Mac Book Pro 16 Inch Laptop - Getting a Write Speed of 500MB/Sec and Read Speed of 688MB/S - where the marketing information for this product says over 1000MB/Sec - THE REASON I BOUGHT THE PRODUCT. I bought this product a while ago when I was having storage issues on my device, and it was one of the best purchases I have ever made. It's compact size allows for easy carrying around, which is one of my biggest concerns when it comes to external drives. The fingerprint scanner also gave me reassurance in the security of my data. I bought this 2 years ago and really happy with it. It has faster read/write speeds than any other hardrive I have. It's compact, the size of a credit card, light, and sturdy. Also the fingerprint reader is super fast and always recognizes my print every time. Can't ask for more. Drop it all the time but it's so light and compact that there isn't damage. I only wish I got a larger size of storage.

Let me start by saying this ssd is small and surprisingly very thin ! It’s perfect for work because it does not take up too much pocket space . The fingerprint security is a very good feature it haze worked flawlessly . The read and write speeds on this thing are ridiculously fast , I have no problem saving Gb files to in a couple minutes . I would highly recommend this for work or personal use !

1st thing I noticed is how small this hard drive is! It is really convenient to take on the go. I use an MS Surface for work and personal use. These small tablets are convenient but sacrifice memory. This hard drive more than makes up for the lack of storage and it is perfect for transferring files between tablets and even my phone. Yes, the hard drive comes with everything you need to connect extra memory storage for pictures and files on your phone. I didn't think I would notice any difference in speed but surprisingly I have. Its not like my old hard drive was slow, but the solid state memory really makes a difference. The fingerprint security feature is really easy to set up and seems to work perfect every time. I had someone else try and log in with the print just to test and they were denied entry. I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a convenient and secure memory solution.

I am very impressed with this device. It is very tiny and works great. I can take it and carry it anyway and it is very sturdy as it is a shock proof device. I want to start off by saying this is one of the better looking portable storage devices. This thing looks the part but also has the features to back it up. The Samsung software is very easy to use and pretty intuitive. If you want to set up the fingerprint to secure the device it is a breeze and if you want to turn it off its a simple as a few clicks. I have a huge and clunky external hard drive that I use to store some movies and such. It takes a long time to transfer moves from my pc to that external storage. But with T7 touch it pretty much cuts the time in half or more given that you have a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port if not you will still see high transfer speeds on a USB 3.0 port. I would recommend this to any person that is tired of the slower/bigger drives, for the person that is security-focused (AES 256-bit hardware encryption) or the person that just wants the simplicity of plug and play with great software.

This is the kind of gadget you get excited about and want to show to your friends! I did have to set it up on my laptop first and later disable the touch lock on my laptop because I didn't want to do that everytime I want to play a PS4 game.

The Portable SSD T7 Touch is a tiny and has rectangles made of the aluminum portable device. And, its weighs just two ounces, meaning you can carry it about anywhere. Compare to my older portable SSD drives (Samsung Portable SSD X5), it is much small and light. The top side of the T7 Touch sports a Samsung logo and fingerprint reader. The white border of the fingerprint reader is an LED activity indicator. It glows solid when you connect the drive to a device, rotates in a clockwise motion when the drive is reading or writing data. The setup is very similar, the setup program is inside the USB disk, I tested the drive with my HP Windows 10 and MacBook Pro, and each recognized and USB drive and able to use it. The speed test is not great like other reviews, it may because of my computer setting, but, it still has 244 MB/s. Its speed is more than enough for copying all my data (small files for photos). It is an excellent all-around external drive that offers both good performance and easy security.

Just got this couple days ago. So far its good. Fast! Half the time loading games on my Xbox One X than my hdd external... But some reason im getting choppy and small glitch in my games while playing. Tried uninstall, re-install. Same glitches.

I bought this drive last year it has been great. On a USB C native port, it trans files very fast. It is reliable and light weight. Also, on a Samsung android phone can use it in the charging port to save files from the phone as well.

I just got the drive, and found out that the T7 touch doesn't work with Mac OS Catalina. Support telling me to contact Apple to solve the problem... Don't buy if you are a Mac user!
