I keep my kids pics and their school documents to transfer from one spot to another. I also keep work documents and payroll info on here. I know it's secure since only my fingerprint can access the information(we tried other fingerprints to make sure). It comes with the necessary cables to be able to connect to the computer to access the saved information. It runs on a SSD encryption which is super secure. It's also the size of my palm and holds 500 gigs! It fits in my purse for easy travel. This is definitely worth getting.

Mayor durabilidad y fiabilidad Los discos SSD son aquellos que están diseñados para almacenar de forma confiable sus datos durante años... pues en este caso de Samung es totalmente falso. El disco duro que tengo, un SSD 850 EVO SATA III 2.5'' 500GB, dejo de funcionar hace apenas unos meses atrás, hacía ruidos extraños, lo usaba para video y ha hecho que pierda bastante material... un desastre de disco. Lo peor es que he pedido una reparación del mismo y me comentan que solo porque han pasado 3 Meses de la garantía oficial ya no se puede hacer nada... Así que tengo un disco duro para tirarlo a la basura. No entiedo como una marca tan grande como Samsung puede permitirse este problema. Ni para regalarlo vale tener productos de Samsung y menos si dependes de ellos en tu trabajo personal.

When I ordered my T7 touch I didn’t know what to expect. I have used several portable hard drives before but they were never very elegant or pocketable. However when I opened up the box I was speechless as to how beautiful this SSD is. It is very pocketable and fits in the palm of my hand. I have been using it for several days and just throw it into my pocket with my wallet. It has a beautiful brushed metal look that also will be very protective. I love the fact that the box came with both a USB-C and USB-A cable. I am able to use it with both my windows pc and my Google Pixel 4. Transfer speed is very fast and the fingerprint allows me to store sensitive documents and data without worrying about it being compromised. Overall I am very satisfied with the T7 touch and plan on continuing to use it everyday.

Like always Samsung delivers! Their portable ssd T7 Touch USB 3.2 500Gb in black has been a reliable, dependable solution for my storage needs over the past year. I never had one problem. The finger lock is the best. Having been robbed and some of my stuff found by police. My SSD T7 Touch look like it went through thr ringer. It was all cosmetic! they did not get in to my T7. Thank you Samsung for making a wonderful hard drive!

Let me start by saying this ssd is small and surprisingly very thin ! It’s perfect for work because it does not take up too much pocket space . The fingerprint security is a very good feature it haze worked flawlessly . The read and write speeds on this thing are ridiculously fast , I have no problem saving Gb files to in a couple minutes . I would highly recommend this for work or personal use !

1st thing I noticed is how small this hard drive is! It is really convenient to take on the go. I use an MS Surface for work and personal use. These small tablets are convenient but sacrifice memory. This hard drive more than makes up for the lack of storage and it is perfect for transferring files between tablets and even my phone. Yes, the hard drive comes with everything you need to connect extra memory storage for pictures and files on your phone. I didn't think I would notice any difference in speed but surprisingly I have. Its not like my old hard drive was slow, but the solid state memory really makes a difference. The fingerprint security feature is really easy to set up and seems to work perfect every time. I had someone else try and log in with the print just to test and they were denied entry. I would recommend this product for anyone looking for a convenient and secure memory solution.

I am very impressed with this device. It is very tiny and works great. I can take it and carry it anyway and it is very sturdy as it is a shock proof device. I really like the fingerprint technology that makes it really easy to unlock it. It transfers files and documents really fast snd I use it both for personal snd business stuff. Samsung really did a great job with it .

I want to start off by saying this is one of the better looking portable storage devices. This thing looks the part but also has the features to back it up. The Samsung software is very easy to use and pretty intuitive. If you want to set up the fingerprint to secure the device it is a breeze and if you want to turn it off its a simple as a few clicks. I have a huge and clunky external hard drive that I use to store some movies and such. It takes a long time to transfer moves from my pc to that external storage. But with T7 touch it pretty much cuts the time in half or more given that you have a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port if not you will still see high transfer speeds on a USB 3.0 port. I would recommend this to any person that is tired of the slower/bigger drives, for the person that is security-focused (AES 256-bit hardware encryption) or the person that just wants the simplicity of plug and play with great software.

This is the kind of gadget you get excited about and want to show to your friends! If you need a lightweight storage solution and security is important, take a look at the Samsung T7 Touch line of SSDs. The solid aluminum body has the same footprint as a credit card and the whole thing weighs in at just over 2 ounces. I've always had great experiences with Samsung memory products and my 500 GB T7 is perfect for me to be able to manage all my important files for work and not have to worry about unauthorized access. What can I say? This was my first SSD. I did a lot of research and it was clear that I needed to get one of the Samsung models. I have no regrets. This thing is a beast. My laptop is crazy fast. Performance is outstanding. My family and friends cannot believe how fast this thing is. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a SSD. It's simply fantastic.

la mejor compra que haya hecho jamás tengo un pc nuevo!!!! no si es porque el portátil es Samsung y los problemas de compatibilidad se reducen pero ha sido todo super sencillo y rápido con los programas que vienen con el ssd. Great little product, the small size is great it fits in a case easily. The main feature is the finger print looking encryption with works great every time. As it is a popular item, it is very easy to find cases for it, my I added a very low profile silicone case, it ensures it wont scratch my MacBook when in the same case with it.

I use this drive to save music files without any problems. I recently used it to store images from different photo shoots around town. I rely on this and my tab s8 ultra when I need to edit photos on the go. Wish I would have purchased the 1tb version. Great on the go storage.

I recently upgraded from a traditional 500G HDD to the Samsung T7 Touch 500g SSD. I saved a lot of space from the T7’s smaller profile - it’s about the size of a credit card - but also saved a lot of room by getting rid of converter dongles. My old external HDD was USB 2.0 and my laptop only has USB-C ports, so I had to carry around a USB-C converter. The transfer speed via USB-C was noticeably faster. I was able to watch 4K movies directly from the T7 Touch rather than transferring the file to my laptop first like with traditional HDDs. The build quality on the T7 was top notch. I was less worried about damaging the T7 Touch due to its rugged construction. SSDs typically are much sturdier than traditional HDDs because there are no spinning discs, which added my feeling of security. The software was easy to install. It took me about 3 minutes to set the device up which included a quick reboot to install new firmware. The fingerprint sensor worked flawlessly. This was expected as Samsung has had years of experience with building fingerprint sensors into their phones. Overall, I would highly recommend this product. The 500G I received is a bit on the low side if you’re using it as your primary backup device. However, as a device to move files around, it is perfect. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest feedback

I was super excited to receive my new Samsung T7 Touch 500 GB USB drive. This drive is really small and lightweight. It is about the length of a credit card. I attached the USB drive to my Windows 10 CPU. My motherboard has a USB C input, so I was able to hookup the drive directly by USB C. The first thing I noticed was drive comes unencrypted. The Samsung software will need to be installed and a password or fingerprint setup. I noticed if you want the drive encrypted and you want to use on multiple devices, you must download the Samsung software to your CPU first. Once I added my passcode/fingerprint, I tried connecting the USB drive to several different devices. I was able to use the drive on my Xbox One, Android TV, Windows 10 CPU, and Tablet. I did have an issue with my Google Pixel and LG 4k Television. Both gave a message asking me to format the drive to the correct format. Then I compared the drive to my other USB 3.0 drive and this Samsung blows it out of the water. The read and write speeds are 10X faster on the Samsung T7. I will be using this drive to store my documents, pictures, and games. This drive should serve as my local backup to my CPU as well. I’m really impressed with the design and overall feel. The fingerprint reader is pretty responsive as well. I’m not sure about the overall durability of the drive, as I have not owned the product long enough to measure. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase, and may even add a second drive for my son's Xbox One.

Out of the box I like that this hard drive came with both a USB A to USB C cable and a USB C to USB C cable so I can easily use it with my phone, ipad, and laptop without having to buy additional cables. I would've preferred that the instructions in the box were slightly more in depth on how to do the initial set up but basically you just plug it into your laptop and run the Samsung Magician Software that's on it. It will walk you through setting up a password or fingerprint protections. It's really easy to setup and use gives me peace of mind that my data is protected. I decided to use this hard drive to back up my photos from my phone and DSLR camera. It took approximately 20 minutes to transfer all of the photos from my phone to my laptop and it took less than five for them to transfer to the new hard drive. The light on the hard drive flashes while it's in use to let you know not to unplug it while its writing. I'm pretty hard on electronics, in the two weeks I've been actively using this hard drive I've spilled a glass of sweet tea on it and my cat has knocked it off my desk onto hard wood floor. and it still runs like it's new out of the box. According to the pamphlet in the box its able to withstand a drop up to about 6.6 feet. While I don't ever expect to be dropping this from much higher than that it's nice knowing I don't have to handle it with kid-gloves. So far I've transferred around 3,250 photos to it between my phone and my camera and it's barely made a dent in the storage on this thing. I'm excited to see just how many memories I can fit on this pocket-sized hard drive. Based on my knowledge I expect to be able to get around 40x that on this device without it breaking a sweat. Overall, this hard drive has been great and I would purchase it again.

Samsung T7 Touch SSD 500 GB: It is a very cool looking external hard drive. I have the 500GB external hard drive and was amazed by the size, weight and look of the external hard drive. Physical: It is very light weight and small in size. I was really amazed when I physically held the device in my hand. It is light in weight and small in size then even pack of cards. I put it in my front pocket of the denim and walked around a bit and one would not even feel it in pocket or anyone could see it in the pocket from outside. Pretty impressed with the size and weight. The metal casing looks great and does look like a good quality product. I did not try the drop test as I did not want to physically damage the device with dings and scratches. Setup: Hard drive does come with setup software and it can be easily installed with few clicks. Setting up with fingerprints is very easy and it can store up to 4 fingerprints or a password. There is an android app as well but unfortunately, I use Google Pixel and it is not compatible with the SSD to backup phone data. There is a list of compatible devices on Samsung website. Usage: Fingerprint protection is the best feature of the SSD. It is also blazing fast. I copied a 2.5GB file from laptop to the drive and it completed the job in about 10 sec at an average transfer rate of 250MB/sec. I connected the drive to a different computer and without authenticating with fingerprint or password it would open the hard drive in read only mode and only folder available is the setup software. I also connected it in my car to use as usb device to play some music and it worked great after authenticating with my finger. If I do not authenticate, car will not identify the hard drive and hence was not accessible. This is great, this hard drive allows you to share and backup data in a secure manner. I love the simple to use external hard drive along with security. Good job Samsung, keep innovating and keep building great product. I only wish I had purchased the 2TB drive instead of 500GB. Had been using the drive for about 2 weeks now, and love it. It helps in two ways as my current Surface Book only has 256GB capacity, and now I get another 500GB SSD. The drive is sleek and lightweight and can even fit in the pocket without any issue. The harddrive has Type C port on it. It can be connected either with Type A-Type C, or Type C-Type C cables that were provided along with it in the package. The harddrive when plugged in lights up blue which is a cool looking feature, indicating where the fingerprint can be scanned. The software to register to fingerprint is loaded in the harddrive, but would have liked to see the software automatically load to install when the drive is connected on first plug in, into the PC. The other best feature of the harddrive is that it works with Type C port connectivity, and can be plugged to any Samsung Phone with Type C charging port. That helps really well as the phone only has 128GB internal and with 8K video recording, the phone drive fills up too quick, so can transfer data from phone to Drive directly. And with over 900MBPS Read/Write speeds, I was also able to use it as storage drive while recording 8K videos on the S20 Ultra without having any dataloss. Even when playback of videos on phone, there was no lag on video playback. The Drive can be setup with Password and Fingerprints. Setup is quick, but would have liked to see an option to sign in with account on the app, as I am not sure if drive can be accessed just using the Password There are issues using the app on PC as the app size is too small and had to use magnifier or increasing scaling to see the options. App shows an Update, but unable to update the drive even with Security Mode Disabled. Another issue with the Samsung Portable SSD app on PC is that, if Security Mode is disabled, then upon enable again, new password has to be entered and even register again to biometrics, as previously used isnt saved. There is also Portable SSD app on android phone, but even when drive is plugged in, its not detected by the app, when shown in Files. Detects on the PC app. All in all, its the best portable drive that is lightweight, small in size, and has security options inbuilt. Pros: Small size light weight Fast Read/Write Speeds Fingerprint ID Password Cons: Unable to update software on drive Disable and Enable biometrics, register again to biometrics

This is a recently released ssd from Samsung. It's standout feature from other models and even its predecessor is the fingerprint security scan. The fingerprint scanner allows for 4 different fingerprints. This means either 4 people will be allowed access to the ssd or you can scan four different fingerprints of your own for easier accessibility. In order to use this function, you'd have to download an application. This application is supplied to you if you download via pc/mac once you input the drive. By phone, you'd have to download it from the app store of your android or apple devices. The app is not a large file so it won't take up space. Besides, you'll have a lot of extra space once you've used this ssd. Upon installation, there were some complications that took a while to figure it out. Note that these obstacles applied to mobile phones only for me, not the pc. Installation and usage was simple for pc. It is very important that for the T7 ssd you need to download the app "pssd" by samsung electronics and not the regular ssd because that is only compatible for T5 and T3, not the T7. (Figured that out through trial and error) The other problem was that although the ssd was clearly connected to my Note 8 and the app was running, it stated "there was no ssd connected". I refreshed and the same error popped up. There was also problem with password setting. The password serves as a double protection. If you choose to use security, you'll have to scan the fingerprint and then put in password. However, you do not have the option to opt in for only fingerprint or the other. This serves as a nuisance for those that may just want quick access. Note that there was a point where a correct password was inputted but it stated it was incorrect. After sorting that out, it took me some time to find my ssd. I'm accustomed to once you install a drive, it pops open and asks what you'd like to do. This is not the case and the app only allows you to edit/remove fingerprints, change password or security settings. Once you find it, everything rolls into place. I began transferring videos and photos from phone to ssd. A total of 78 videos (assortment of 1-20 minute videos) took less than 5 minutes to transfer over. Photos were finished in rapid transfer speeds. There was a few complications in beginning but after that, Samsung's T7 portable ssd did what it was suppose to do in fast speeds. Package includes USB type A to C and USB type C to C, T7 SSD and manual.
