Offline doesn’t mean off grid
Device gone missing while it was offline? No Worries. Report your device as missing with SmartThings Find so nearby Samsung devices can pick up the low energy signal from your device. Location information is securely protected and encrypted so only the devices owner can find their device.
A device is “offline” when it is disconnected from a mobile network, or in the case of Galaxy wearables, disconnected from your Galaxy smartphone.
Other Samsung device users must opt in to help find misplaced devices to provide location alerts.
All SmartThings Find user data is encrypted and securely protected, ensuring that the device’s location is not revealed to anyone except its owner.
BLE finding capabilities are available on Galaxy smartphones and tablets, running Android 8 or later; Galaxy Watch devices running Tizen 5.5 or later; and Galaxy Buds+ and Galaxy Buds Live.
This feature is only available with Galaxy devices.
