Poor audio quality could be due to certain condition in settings, Bluetooth interference, or even from habits of using your headphones. Before heading to the Samsung Service Center with your Galaxy Watch Active2, you may consider a list of suggestions to fix the problem in following order.

Before you try out below recommendations as to your solution, be sure to check if your watch's software and related apps are updated with latest version. Find more about 'How to update software and apps on your Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2' with Samsung Support.

Adjust audio settings or the volume on your watch

Let's start testing with your audio settings first.

Step 1. Press the Power key on the watch's Home screen.

Step 2. Navigate to and tap Setting > Sounds and vibrations > Volume

Step 3. Swipe to and tap Media, and then tap on + to increase the volume.

If your watch only has a Vibration option, you may increase the volume within the app you're using to output audio to the headphones.

Note: Adjust the volume or move to another area if there is an echo during a call.

Restarting your watch and headphones could solve the problem in poor audio quality.

  • If your watch is connected to a phone, restart the phone.
  • Once the devices are powered back on again, check if they needed to be additionally charged.

Note: If the battery is not critically low, the audio quality may sound choppy, or make weird noises.

You may try testing by moving the devices closer if the audio quality improves in better way.

  • The watch and headphones must be within Bluetooth connection range (10 m).

The distance may vary depending on the environment the devices are used in and if there are obstacles, such as metals, walls, and

       electrical equipment between the devices.

  • Make sure there isn't any other Bluetooth devices being connected at the same time.

Other tips to improve sound quality:

  • Wireless network services may be disabled due to issues with the network of the service provider. Make sure to keep the devices away from electromagnetic waves.
  • Take note that the distance may vary depending on the environment the devices are being used in.

You can also try pairing a second pair of headphones that is working properly or not.

Step 1. Press the Power key.

Step 2. Navigate to and tap Settings > Connection > Bluetooth.

Step 3. Tap on Bluetooth audio.

Step 4. Tap on Settings icon next to the connected headphones.

Step 5. Tap on Unpair to disconnect the headphones.

Step 6. Tap on Scan, and then tap the second headphones you want to pair.

  • If the second headphones are working properly, but the original headphones still have poor audio quality, contact the original headphones' manufacturer for further support.
  • If you're experiencing the same issues with the second headphones, reset the watch.

If you tried all the tips above and the problem still persists, you can reset your watch in order to enhance poor audio quality.

Step 1. Go to Settings > General > Reset.

Step 2. Tap on Back up data at the bottom of the screen to avoid data loss.

Step 3. Tap Reset.

Once the reset completes, setup your watch and reconnect it with the original headphones. You can find more about 'How to pair Bluetooth headphones to your Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2' with Samsung Support.

Note: Before performing the factory data reset, remember to make backup copies of all important data stored in the Galaxy Watch Active2.
