new Series 9 HW-Q90R Soundbar

To get the full features out of your new Series 9 HW-Q90R Soundbar, you will need to have it updated to the most recent firmware update. Also, when you have the HW-Q90R Soundbar connected to your TV and you have sound coming from the Soundbar but not from the wireless rear speakers or subwoofer, you will need to perform a firmware update to fix this problem. To do this, you will need to either download the update file and transfer it to a USB stick or update over the network. Please follow the steps below on how to perform the update over the network or via USB.

Update over the Network.

Please Note: If you do not use the SmartThings App, please refer to Update using a USB.

1 Make sure your soundbar is connected to the same wi-fi network using SmartThings .
2 Unplug all of the products power cords from the power outlet and plug them back in again before moving onto the next step.
3 Open the SmartThings app on your phone and select the HW-Q90R soundbar to access it's control menu.
4 Tap the 3 vertical dots which you can find in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
5 From the dropdown, select Information > Firmware Update > Update Now .
6 After the 3 cycles, the soundbar will restart and the last source used will display for about 20 seconds and then dim out.
7 When there isn't any text on display, press and hold the down button on the remote until the display shows UPDATE (about 6 seconds) to update the wireless subwoofer and surround speakers.
8 UPDATE > BYE > ON will appear on the display while updating the subwoofer and surround speakers.
9 After the update has been completed, the soundbar will restart and the last source used will display for about 20 seconds and then dim out.

How to prepare a USB to upgrade.

1 The first step in preparing your USB to upgrade the soundbar is to download the update file from the Series 9 HW-Q90R Soundbar page. You can find the download button half way down the page and next 'Upgrade File(USB type)' .

4 When the upgrade has finished extracting, open the USB folder and check to see if the file named 'SAT-HKA19WWC ' is in the root directory.
