How to enable Eye Comfort Shield on Galaxy S21
The new Eye comfort shield option is available on One UI 3.1 devices including the new Galaxy S21 series. You can turn this on to limit your screen’s blue light. It's similar to the regular Blue light filter except a special algorithm will adjust your screen's color depending on the external factors.
Follow the below guide to learn how to enable this setting via Quick Settings and your Display Settings as well as adjusting the Eye Comfort Shield Settings.
Note: Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version.
Using two fingers, swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick settings panel. Navigate to and tap the Eye comfort shield icon. The icon will glow blue when it's enabled, and your screen's color will have a slightly yellow tint that will change over time.
Tap and hold the Eye comfort shield icon to adjust the settings.
Step 1. Head into your Settings > Display.
Step 2. Toggle on Eye Comfort Shield.
You can select one between two options:
- Adaptive: Automatically adjust your screen’s colors based on the time of day. You’ll see minor adjustments during the day and significantly warmer colors at night
- Custom: Choose the color temperature that’s right for you and set a schedule for when to apply it.
Here are the options for Custom:
Set schedule: Choose from Always on to keep Eye Comfort Shield enabled at all times, Sunset to sunrise, or custom. With custom, you can choose the exact time you’d like Eye Comfort Shield to turn on and off.
Color temperature: Adjust the slider to change the screen’s color tone.
