How to use Samsung DeX Wirelessly

Samsung DeX is a service that allows you to use your mobile like a computer by connecting the mobile to an external display such as a TV or a monitor. You can use your mobile as a PC with Samsung DeX.

Versatile and hassle-free. You can now use DeX's features minus any wires for connection. Simply connect to a Smart TV and cast your contents on the big screen without cluttering your work environment. 

QHD resolution support

High resolution (QHD) support allows users to enjoy content on a crystal clear screen. 

2560 x 1440 resolution offers the satisfactory experience of watching content with vivid, crisp picture quality.


  • Available with Samsung 4K TV (released after ‘17) with a 5GHz Wi-Fi connection.
  • Smart View supports up to FHD (1920x1080).

How to connect DeX wirelessly

Follow the steps below to set up Wireless DeX.

Step 1. On your smartphone, open the Quick panel, swipe downwards, and then tap Samsung DeX.

Step 2. Select a TV from the detected devices list.

Step 3. Tap Start now on the Samsung DeX pop-up. (Required for devices after Q OS).

Step 4. Accept the connection request on the TV. 
Step 5. When they are connected, the Samsung DeX screen will appear on the TV.


  • Samsung DeX Wireless connection is supported with Smart TVs that support Miracast only.
  • Make sure that screen mirroring is supported on the TV you want to connect to.
  • It is recommended to use a Samsung Smart TV manufactured after 2019.
  • Up to 5 apps can be operated at once on the TV via DeX mode.

Improved DeX Touch Pad

The DeX Touchpad allows you to control just like a PC. Three gesture types are added to the improved Touch Pad function. You can control DeX more efficiently by swiping with 3 fingers. Check the new features below.

To activate the TouchPad, after connecting to DeX, swipe down the Quick Panel and select Run with Touch Pad.

1 Swipe up gesture: Back to Recents page
2 Swipe down gesture: Go to Home
3 Swipe left/right gesture: Switch apps

Note: Device screenshot and menu may vary depending on the device model and software version.

Q: While using the Wireless DeX feature, the TV screen is stuttering and lagged. 

  • When connecting to TV wirelessly, performance may vary depending on the TV specifications.
  • Ensure that you have established a good internet connection with your Samsung TV and Galaxy that supports the 5 GHz band Wi-Fi.
  • For a smooth wireless connection, please use your mobile device and TV in a short distance.
  • In the case of the Samsung Smart TV before 2019, we recommend to DeX feature with an HDMI cable for better performance.
  • Please ensure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated with the latest version.
