How to enable and configure Mobile Hotspot in Samsung Mobile Device?

Mobile Hotspot is a convenient way to let you share your 3G connection with other mobile devices or laptop/tablet.

How to enable Mobile Hotspot
1 Select Settings

3 Select Mobile Hotspot and Tethering

4 Enable Mobile Hotspot by swiping the switch to the right

5 Ensure Wi-Fi sharing is switched on in Mobile Hotspot panel

How to configure Mobile Hotspot
1 Tap the 3 vertical dots in Mobile Hotspot panel and select the option accordingly

2 To limit devices, select Allowed devices and enter Device Name and MAC Address.

To find MAC Address in Mobile, select Settings > About phone/About device > Status

3 Select Configure Mobile Hotspot to change Network Name, Password and Security (if needed)

4 Select Timeout Settings to switch off Mobile Hotspot within a certain timeframe
