[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My computer is fairly new, with latest processor and motherboard. I added more RAM, but I only observed minimal improvement in the performance. I never thought my SSD could be the bottleneck. After I added the Samsung 970 EVO plus M2 drive, the performance improved significantly. My computer boots way too fast, programs open lot quicker now, and switching programs are almost instantaneous. Just to experiment, I cut down the RAM to half size, and I did not notice any performance degradation. This is amazing. I will go ahead and switch harddrives in my other laptops with the Samsung 970 EVO plus. I would surely recommend this to anyone who wants to improve their laptop or desktop performance.

Bij de beslissing om een nieuwe gaming pc te bouwen komt natuurlijk een hoop opzoek werk kijken. Maar voor het kiezen van een goede opstart drive (Windows 10pro 64bit) was mijn keuze direct een M.2 nvme. Dit omdat mijn moederbord mij de optie geeft om deze prachtige technologie eens hands-on te testen en natuurlijk nieuwsgierigheid. Waarom deze Samsung? Ik heb in al mijn desktops Samsung producten gebruikt en ben hier zeer tevreden over. De betrouwbaarheid en de bouwkwaliteit is voor mij belangrijk. Dit is ondertussen de 3e generatie M.2 drives dus gegarandeerd geen kinderziektes. Ook het feit dat door het gebruik van een heatspreader ,die in de sticker is geïntegreerd, en een speciale nikkelcoating op de controller zelf ,alsook het gebruik van de Dynamic Thermal Guard in de bios,deze drive's betere warmte afgifte hebben. Warmte is slecht voor electronica, maar door het gebruik van de nieuwste generatie 3d-tlc-geheugen voor de flash chips (nand) is er maar 1,2 volt nodig bij deze drives tegenover 1,8 volt bij de vorige generatie waardoor ze ook koeler blijven en in een stabiele lijn hogere prestaties kunnen geven ipv de piek en daal prestaties. Kortom,zoek je een snelle, betrouwbare drive waarmee je zeker enige jaren voort kan, dan kan je niet om deze Samsung 970 EVO plus heen.Als je de lees-en schrijfsnelheid bekijkt van dit prachtig stukje technologie weet je dat je goed zit. Hieronder enkele foto's van de drive.

I have been taking all the pics from my cell and my husbands cell and just uploading them onto our computer hard-drive forever now. It was running slow, taking forever to complete new actions and switch between programs until I installed this bad boy. We now have plenty of memory and the speed at which it runs is super fast. Like its brand new and has nothing on it. It's so awesome. Our computer boots up so fast now and we are no longer waiting for files to upload forever like before and I dont have to choose what I want to keep and not keep to make room!

i bought 970 evo plus 1tb ssd a month ago nearly im very impressed with its performance its speed is as advetised even a bit more (read/write) its my second samsung ssd i use one as boot drive(980 pro 500 gb) but my pc is also decent enough (sadly not pcie 4 but still ok ish) specs 9700kf 32 gb ram 500gb samsung 980 pro 500 gb 1tb 970 evo plus 1tb motherboard asus prime z390 m plus (pcie 3 sadly but still very fast for me) overall samsung is great brand i use samsung phones for years i never had problems with any samsung product .even my old pc ram is samsung 2gb (been using it for over 10 years ) samsung is very good

Bought this less than a year ago and was very impressed with the performance. All of a sudden one day windows wouldn't boot up. Swapped out another hard drive and reinstalled windows on that instead. Booted it up, detects the 970 Evo 1tb in the bios, but when I go to windows there is nothing. Was able to open the drive momentarily through "this pc" but nothing could be opened or moved or changed. Tried to format and would not let me. Drive is set to read only and I cannot take it off. Samsung magician detects it and its running a scan now, getting all sorts of bad sectors. Trying to figure out how the warranty works on this because this drive should not be dead already.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the ssd to be the main storage for my operating system on my new pc and primary storage since i didnt buy another or a hard drive, but the speeds are crazy fast. im i play the same games as on my ps4 (Borderlands pre,2,3, outriders new horizion, watchdogs, fallout 4, and i usually have to wait like a min or so during screen transitions or cut scenes and would usually check my phone during this time but i cant do that with these high speeds. The transitions stick around for like 3 seconds and im back in. I got it before the 980 came out but im planning on getting it anyways and switching the primary storage for those fast load times.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had been using the Samsung Evo Plus 970 NVMe 250GB SSD for the past month. Got it to add as a boot drive for my new PC build. The box came packaged well, and doesnt have any chance of slipping from its slot while shipping. For the first week, havent finished the build yet, so started using the EVO Plus using the external Samsung X5 SSD shell, by replacing the existing hardrive that came with the package. The speeds are much better on the Evo Plus, compared to the default drive that is in the X5 with speeds over 30% to the default drive. When testing the read-speeds, it was over 2GBPS, which is the highest I had seen on all the SSD devices that I have including the NVMe SSDs. Tested the speeds with Macbook Pro 15 with TBT3 and Alienware M15 with TBT3. Mac harddrive is over 20% slower than the Evo Plus 970 NVMe SSD. With Alienware M15, the write speeds of Alienware default NVMe drive is over 600Mbps for a 16GB file while the Evo Plus stayed at around 400Mbps. But the Read speeds for the same file is over 2.6Gbps for 970 Evo Plus, but around 1.7Gbps for the default NVME on M15(but also to consider is that the 970 Evo Plus is connected via TBT3 whereas the internal drive is connected to the motherboard directly, so expect that the 970 Evo Plus will have probably higher speeds when replaced the existing NVMe on M15. When plugged into desktop, on MSI Z370-A Pro, was able to get seq read speeds almost reaching 3000Mbps and seq write speeds around 2400Mbps, which is awesome as a basic boot drive and to have games load from the drive. I also have 2 secondary drives that use Samsung 860 QVO which have good speeds for data storage and read. Only thing I missed out on when getting the drive is that I didnt consider the size of games, so since I have only 250GB drive, restricted, but planning on upgrading the motherboard to be able to get two NVMe ports to allow plugging in another 970 EVO Plus The harddrive helps with quick and fast boot of the desktop, with under 2 seconds to boot and had no issues playing AAA games on high settings(Config is i7-8700K and 16GB 3000MHZ RAM and 2070 RTX) Pros: Fast Read speeds and Write speeds Cons: Could have some better heat sink to prevent it getting a bit hot, but going to get a new MOBO with heatsink to prevent this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super fast SSD for productivity and video editing I wanted to add this Samsumg SSD to my new Dell XPS 15 laptop computer. The factory SSD installed on the laptop was fairly quick, but the Samsung 970 EVO Plus is blazing fast! No other SSD can compare. With 500MB/s Seq. Read speeds and 2,300MB/s Seq. Write speeds, it makes multitasking and video editing a breeze. On my laptop, the read speeds were well over 2 gbps! My computer booted a lot faster, applications and programs loaded way quicker, and video post processing was almost 50% faster! I was so amazed by the performance. The only downside for me would be the storage capacity. I wish I had a 500gb or 1tb SSD. My laptop only has one slot on the motherboard so if I want more storage, I would need an external harddrive or upgrade this SSD to a bigger capacity. However all in all, this is the best SSD on the market today!

I never thought my SSD could be the bottleneck. After I added the Samsung 970 EVO plus M2 drive, the performance improved significantly. My computer boots way too fast, programs open lot quicker now, and switching programs are almost instantaneous. Just to experiment, I cut down the RAM to half size, and I did not notice any performance degradation. This is amazing. I will go ahead and switch harddrives in my other laptops with the Samsung 970 EVO plus. I would surely recommend this to anyone who wants to improve their laptop or desktop performance.

Les performances sont au rendez vous mais elles sont ternies par une température excessive en charge même avec un très bon dissipateur (HCM Pro X), 50°C en moyenne au repos et plus de 80°C en charge. Avant la mise en place du dissipateur, le SSD s'est même mis en sécurité (baisse des débits). Du coup j'ai des doutes sur la longévité du produit.

We had a high end computer built for us and this drive was in it. We have now had it replaced twice but I do not want to send the whole computer across the US again as shipping is ridiculous. We had the drive replaced locally and came for a warranty (since we have had it a little over two years) but since we did not buy the drive (we bought a computer) there is no proof of purchase and the builder did not itemize components - and since it has already been replaced once before (I have had the computer less than four years) even that information would be inaccurate. I have switched brands.

my samsung 970 evo plus 500gb nvme m.2 is no doubt the best ssd! i've used mine since shortly after it first came out and i've used/use others as well. my 970 still scores top speeds on tests where as other ssds i use tend to get worn out and slow down over time. i ran smartctl yesterday and my 970 has 51 tb written and still scores 2,900-3,200 reads/writes when tested. i believe it will live up to the 300tbw lifespan that the 500gb has. sure is good nowadays to be able to trust that something works because many are a let down but not samsung! excellent ssds! highly recommend!!

We needed more space. We love to travel and take tons of pictures have and videos that we want to keep safely. I have previously lost pictures with my laptop not working. We got this Samsung memory card and put in an external shell. It is amazing!! We were able to add all of our photographs and videos of all our vacation destinations and have room to add stuff (next destination : Thailand) The interface is very easy to use and the files are simple to access. This is a fantastic product and I will recommend it to anyone looking to save their precious files of any type.

Bastante decepcionado con este disco, ponen un anuncio gigante de 3.500mb/s lectura y 3.200mb/s escritura, pero lo demás si es dificil de encontrar y saber, que esas velocidades son solo en una zona del disco (y me imagino pequeña) y el resto si es a una velocidad muy baja, sobre todo en los modelos de 250gb (400mb/s) y 500gb (900mb/s)... hubiera visto o conocido esa informacion antes de comprarlo hubiera preferido ir por un disco a 2000mb/s de lecto-escritura, pero siendo la velocidad REAL en todo el disco, no en una minima zona y el resto bien lento ...

I have been using the little drive as a super fast USB-C portable drive. This V-NAND Drive really is the ultimate performance champ. The physical drive Design is no larger than a stick of gum, yet has an amazing speed and storage capacity. Since it is a solid state memory storage with no moving parts, the durability is also very high. The enclosure I used is an aluminum enclosure I can hide my pocket or bad. The enclosure I am using allows me to use this drive on both OSX and Windows. I have not had any errors or slowdowns with this drive and it has performed stable and trouble free. I use is mostly to transfer large video files for editing and works flawlessly. The Samsung Magician software was helpful in getting my firmware updated and allows me to see my other internal SSD drives on my computer at the same time. I have only used about half of the 256GB of the drive yet it has shown no slowdowns or delays. Although the drive can achieve sequential read/write speeds up to 3,500/3,300 MB/s, my USB-C portable system has only allowed me to get slightly over 1100MB/s. This is not the drives fault, it is the way I am using the drive. Overall I love this drive for the small size and slim slender profile. I would highly recommend it.

I had installed a 1TB EVO 860 SATA (storage) disk on my gaming laptop plus an original Kingston M.2. 128GB system SSD. Upgrading the M.2 system to a 970 Pro should have been an easy task using Macrium software, but I did not know that I had to load the original partitions one by one, in order to resize (expand) any partition (most importantly the C - system). I think Samsung should have provided a tool for upgrading (Samsung or other) system disks to larger ones. Providing a good and free migration tool working with any brands would have been good PR!

I bought this to migrate from my 2 year old 960 Evo. Installation & migration (cloning) was simple and a performance test (ATTO) showed the expected increase in performance. What I didn't expect was the much higher operating temps. I stopped the Magician performance test when T2 hit 100C, when it hadn't been running for long. In normal operation with a light load T2 is around 80C. I have a well-ventilated system and the 960 Evo happily ran at around 50C, so I am a bit concerned. I may fit a heat sink. But some feedback here would be good.

My PC has a 120 gig SSD connected via sata. I want more storage with a PCIe x4 data connection. I purchased the Samsung 970 EVO and plugged it into my motherboard in the m.2 slot. The problem came when I ran the Samsung Migration software. It errors out when it tries to migrate the data from the SSD to the 970 - very disappointing. The Samsung website offers no support. When I search the internet, I find that many other people have the same issue and recommend using other migration software. Samsung needs to address this problem.

Heb kortgeleden een niuwe pc geboudt voor mijzelf, en zag dat er op het moederbord ook een nmve M.2 ssd op kon. Dus heb direct een samsung evo plus 500 gekocht, daar ik ook zeer tevreden ben tot nu toe met mijn 2 samsung evo ssd's. En er achter kwam dat je ook windows 10 er op kon zetten, waar je dan van kan booten, en echt dat is zeer snell mijn pc start op van af voledig uit tot windows in ongeveer 5-10 seconden, maar wat wil je ook met snelheden van rond de 3200-3500mb p/s. het instaleeren was vrij makkelijk door gewoon de handleiding door te lezen, was wel erg verbaast over de grote van de stick , bijna net zo groot als een usb stickje, was bijna bang dat ik hem zou breken, met mijn mega handen :P. Windows erop gezet door middle van een bootable usb stick, en weer stond ik verbaast te kijken hoe snel dat ging, was klaar voor ik er erg in had . heb natuurlijk ale mogelijk heden uitgeprobeerd, en aleen al het feit dat windows er op staat maakt alles heel veel sneller, heb zelf een game er bij opgezet en zelfs die liep beter, kopieeren van grote bestanden,gaat ook zeer snel. daar windows nu de beschikking heeft over een snelle cach. ga zeker nog een tweede kopen op mijn moederbord waar ik alle games op ga zetten. kortom een zeer goed produkt, kan hem zeker aanraden, als je een mogelijk hebt op het moederbord om een m.2. aan te sluiten, windows draait zoveel beter. het is even een angstig moment om hem op het moederbord te plaatsen, zeker op het moment dat je hem vast moet zetten met een schroefje, en die is zeer klein dus let goed op dat je hem goed vast hebt, ik zelf heb een pincet gebruikt om hem vast te houden, maar 2 paar handen maakt het net even iets gemakkelijker, een houd de stick op zijn plaats de andere plaatst het schroefje. was de beste aankoop van mijn leven, was altijd erg terughoudend met dit soort produkten :P en het aller belangrijkste een zeer goede prijs verhouding. dus deze 970 evo plus nvme m.2. is een top product.

Now honestly the PS4 is a great system and is fast and good with storage. But I never realized how much better could be with the Samsung 907 EVO plus M2 drive. Everything ever since has improve which is a bit mind boggling. Obviously storage is expected with 250GB but also performance, speed and gaming experience was so much better. And its quite easy to replace and set up, there are many YouTube videos out there to replace your hard drive with and SSD that have detailed step by step instructions. Processing happens in blink of an eye like 3d designing using CAD. All this was possible after switching to the 970 Evo plus SSD 1 TB. I have it installed in the NVME M2 slot and did install a heatsink with an active fan on it. A few months ago, the fan died and I was afraid of overheating. But as it turns out, the existing ventilation in my tower casing is enough with just the heatsink on the SSD. I was so impressed with this SSD, that i brought more and changed my laptops to this SSD from a 3.5 inch SSD! I have become so comfortable with my fast and crisp computer that now I get frustrated in my office as the computer there is "slow". Don't say you weren't warned!

Eerst had ik 1 jaar een super slome harde schijf in mijn computer zitten. Ik was na 1 jaar wel aan een SSD toe want dat had ik nog niet. Ik had wel een klein beetje moeite met het installeren want mijn BIOS vond de SSD niet. Maar uiteindelijk had ik het allemaal gevonden. Met de clone software van Samsung heb je ook super snel je Windows en de rest overgezet naar de SSD. Het verschil was enorm te zien. Eerst startte mijn pc op in 2 minuten en nu 15 seconde, en dat is nog al een groot verschil.

Deze snell Samsung SSD past perfect in mijn nieuw gekochte PCIe kaartje voor in mijn oude moederbord. Hiermee wil ik mijn nieuwe W10 installatie laten booten (wel van te voren gecontroleerd dat de BIOS dit ondersteunt). Zorg hier wel voor dat deze kaart je enige gekoppelde mogelijkheid is om te schrijven want anders worden andere HD's eerder gevonden om een nieuwe installatie van W10 te installeren. Ik ben er zeer tevreden over en kan het een ieder aanraden die ook hierop wil overstappen!

With my old system and a 850 Evo as my boot disk, my boot time was 8-9 seconds. Now that's 32gb ram, 4790k CPU and gigabyte z97x Mobo. With a Asus Maximus hero xi, 9900k, 64gb trident ddr3000 and a 970 Evo plus....15-16 seconds. Have tried clean install and only drivers updates and still the same. Samsung magician states the drive is running at advertised speeds so not gonna hammer the issue but this being my first experience with m2 drives and I'm not that impressed. Maybe I'm missing something but temps are not a issue, stability not a issue, 970 drivers not a issue and OS integrity not a issue...nor bios settings. I would rate it a 3 star but it works and by no means is it slow but to double my boot time rates it at 3.5(4) stars. Would I recommend anybody buy a m2 drive over a standard SSD? Nope.

But now I'm able to work & i have like an endless supply of memory. Files transfers in & out with ease and with a quickness I haven’t found in other memory cards. It's super fast on our computer and the computer was already fast but this.......... this took fast to another level.  I'm only speaking word of mouth because my boyfriend put it in his computer that he built but it was an easy install and the storage capacity was just what he needed. It has yet to overheat so that's a really good thing too because he's ALWAYS on the computer doing studio stuff. I'd definitely recommend this product.

Vorige week gekocht en alhoewel ik altijd SSD's heb gebruikt, gebruik ik nu deze m.2 en alles gaat aanzienlijk sneller met name de computer opstarten en spellen inladen. Ook is het makkelijk te installeren, uiteraard wel voorzichtig aansluiten, eenmaal in zijn slot is het gewoon een schroefje aandraaien en het zit erin. Nog even configureren uiteraard, eenmaal dit gedaan is, hoef je er niet meer naar om te kijken en kun je genieten van snelle laadtijden.

where can we see the compatability information? i'm using a fairly new dell g5 15 se 5505, with a ryzen 9 4900h. it currently has a 1tb ssd and an empty slot for a 2nd ssd. i would rather upgrade the machine by putting this in that vacant slot instead of adding a 2nd dell ssd. it calls for a m.2 pcie nvme class 40 2280, which i see this is (except the class 40 part i am not sure about). does that automatically mean that i can use this one in my machine?

so far the ssd is working very well. i have been trying to register my purchase but have been unable to log into my account. when i tried it said i needed to change the password. i have requested that but await response the program said email would be sent. i also have question about setting the sata express to m2. which i did but when i went back in to check the bios it had reverted to the sata express state

Speeds are easily that advertised (e.g. 1.6GB/s on image backup). Quality SSD and controller. Samsung Magician does not work, though the driver software does. After removing Intel RST, speeds increased to advertised. Make sure you are not using the Microsoft generic M.2 NVMe drivers (again for speed reasons). Wish it came with M.2 screw, but no OEM does either.

The only problem I faced was instructions. They are very vague when it comes to how to install or download the software. Finally we figured to download the Samsung magician software after calling Samsung. And it worked. Even though Samsung magician is hard to understand with no instructions in the manual. It took us a while to set the SSD with the software. But once it was installed, it worked with amazing speed. I think 250 GB is perfect for my use. I made partitions on Samsung magician for my kids photos and business. Still tons of space. It is Fast, affordable and amazing. I never thought of its speed will be that awesome. I use this SSD as my home based business. Since I spend doing 98% of my work on laptop. This 970 evo plus SSD saved my life. Thank you Samsung. I am always impressed with your technological innovations.

De m2 ssd van Samsung is geweldig om te hebben (snelheid) en dit is mn nu mn 3e m2 ssd module. Ik heb nog nooit enig probleem of happeringen ervaren met deze Samsung ssd modules. Hopenlijk komt binnenkort een 4tb module op de markt. Gezien de mogelijkheid van Pci E 4 zal de snelheid nog verdubbelen en vandaar mijn 3e aankoop.

This is my 4th NVMe EVO SSD and it does not disappoint. It is noticeably faster than my previous 970 EVO, which was also an excellent performer. Another great feature is the migration tool Samsung provides (download from web site). Transfer of Windows 10 system to the new drive took just 5 minutes and worked without a hitch.

i got this to replace my 250 gb drive that came with my computer. after three weeks i find the 970 evo plus to be much quicker than the stock drive. in addition, quality is much better as the stock drive was built with minimum quality parts. i definitely recommend this drive if (like me) the 980 pro is out your price range.

Un bon rapport preformances/prix néanmoins je trouve qu'il chauffe beaucoup, les SSD sont souvent mal placés sur les cartes mères et l'air circule mal. J'ai ajouté un radiateur pour l'aider et ça va beaucoup mieux, dommage que Samsung ne fournisse pas d'origine un disspateur.

After reviewing the bench marks of the 970 Evo Plus I purchased two of the M.2 SSD's & I must write, the improvements are there. If I had a CON it would not be against the SSD itself but the tool Magician; although a very good tool it does not allow access to M.2's.

I bought this in May 2019 and Smart data shows POWER ON COUNT 135, POWER ON HOURS 1915, TOTAL HOST READS 4593, TOTAL HOST WRITES 208885. Even Samsung Magician is showing 204TB written. This is a system drive in a light duty home computer used to browse internet.

speed was good initially but after a few weeks it slowed. my serious concern is that it runs quite hot, even with heat sink it was running at 61 degrees celsius. hope it doesn't fail soon.

These disks break down one by one, it's my fourth Evo plus which broke down after a month. Now i have neither disk, nor data, i don't buy Samsung anymore. I do not recommend!

got it in june 2019. until now it was an awesome drive...fast fast fast. but it's the 2nd drive to fail in less than 2 years. even warranty website doesn't work...

i bought the drive to speed things up a bit & increase my storage. i am only getting 1500 read/write advertised is something like 3500 dont fall for the hype!
