SAMSUNG Electronics was incorporated in 1969 as SAMSUNG Electronics Manufacturing, and became listed in Korea Stock Exchange (KSE) on June 11th, 1975. In 1984, the company was renamed as SAMSUNG Electronics.

The Company is on a contract with renowned international credit rating agencies for a yearly rating of its foreign currency denominated long term corporate bonds. Currently, the company's credit rating is equal to the sovereign nation's credit rating. Furthermore, the three largest certified local credit rating agencies have all granted the Company with a credit rating of AAA. The details are as follows:
