How to use the touch command of Samsung Galaxy Buds

The Samsung Galaxy Buds offer several built-in commands to enhance your experience when you connect them to a phone or tablet through the Galaxy Wearable app. With just a tap or touch gesture, you can play music, skip songs, answer calls, and more. You can also customise touch settings, adjust the volume, use voice commands, and activate ambient sounds.

Media controls:

  • Pinch to play or pause the music track.
  • Double pinch to play the next music track.
  • Triple pinch to play the previous track.
  • Swipe up and down to control the volume.

Pinch and hold controls:

You can assign the pinch function to one of the options below. You can choose one assigned function for the left bud and a different assigned function for the right bud. You can also assign the same choice to both buds if you prefer.

  • Switch noise controls
  • Digital assistant
  • Interpreter
  • Mindfulness
  • Spotify

Call controls:

  • Pinch to answer or end a call.
  • Pinch and hold to decline a call.

Light controls:

  • When the earbuds are not in the case or not in your ears, pinch and hold both earbuds to turn the lights on or off. Lights will display when the battery for each earbud is at least 30%.

  • You can set the lights to blinking, fade in and out, or steady.

How to set up touchpad commands for each earbud
When you connect Galaxy Buds to the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone or tablet, you will be able to customise some touchpad commands for each earbud.

Step 1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app > Select Touch controls.

Step 2. Tap the switch to enable Touch and hold > Then, select Touch and hold.

Step 3. You can specify detailed settings for each earbud.

  • Switch noise controls: Touch and hold the touchpad to toggle between ambient sound and active noise cancellation.
  • Bixby: Touch and hold the touchpad to activate Bixby Voice and issue commands just like on your phone.
  • Volume up/ddown: Touch and hold the touchpad to increase or decrease the volume. If you select volume control on one earbud, the other will automatically switch to match. If you choose another option, you can still raise and lower the volume on the connected device.

How to overlap volume up/down with other touch commands
On the Galaxy Buds series, you can adjust the volume using the earbud tips, even if you have other touchpad commands set up.

Step 1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app > Select Earbuds settings.

Step 2. Select Labs.

Step 3. Tap the switch to enable Double tap earbud edge > Then, select Double tap earbud edge.

Step 4. Check enable / disable state.
