How to enable Fast charging and Fast wireless charging on your Samsung Galaxy phone
Recent Samsung Galaxy smartphones support fast wired and wireless charging capabilities. Enabling these settings can help ensure your phone charges efficiently when using compatible fast charging accessories.
Note:
- Screens, settings, and menu options may vary depending on the device model and software version.
- Fast charging does not activate when connecting your Galaxy smartphone to a PC or standard USB port.
- On Galaxy S23 series models and later, Fast charging and Super fast charging settings are unified under the single Fast charging toggle.
- Genuine Samsung charger types may vary by country.

You can turn on fast wired or wireless charging directly from your device settings.
- Fast charging: Turn this on when using a compatible high-speed wired charger.
- Fast wireless charging: Turn this on when using a compatible high-speed wireless charging pad.
If your cable is not securely plugged in, your device may not charge properly even if a fast charger is connected.
Check the connection between the wall adaptor, the cable, and your Galaxy phone port. If the USB cable is not fully inserted, push it firmly until it seats completely into the port.
If you use a standard charger, Fast charging or Super fast charging may not be available depending on the charger used. Use a charger that supports Fast charging or Super fast charging.
For stable and reliable fast charging compatibility and performance, using a genuine Samsung charger is recommended. Genuine Samsung chargers are available as wired and wireless chargers and can be categorised as follows based on their specifications.
Note:
- To use Super fast charging, check not only the charger’s power output but also whether it supports USB PD (Power Delivery) PPS (Programmable Power Supply). Even if a charger has a high maximum output, Super fast charging may not be available if the charger does not support PPS. You can check the charger’s detailed specifications to confirm whether PPS is supported.
- Cable requirements vary depending on the charger’s maximum charging output. If the cable does not meet the required USB charging specifications, the charger may not be able to deliver its maximum charging output.
- Some third-party cables that do not meet the required charging specifications may have higher electrical resistance, which can cause charging to stop intermittently. For stable charging performance, using a genuine Samsung cable or a cable that meets the required charging specifications is recommended.
- Official Samsung chargers may vary by country.

SMAPP-certified charger
Samsung operates the SMAPP (Samsung Mobile Accessory Partnership Program) to support compatible accessories from partner companies.
Accessories that pass Samsung’s quality verification process receive the Designed for Samsung logo, which may appear on the product or packaging.
Note: For safe and reliable use, Samsung recommends using genuine Samsung accessories or Samsung-certified accessories.
- Wireless chargers with built-in cooling fans may make subtle fan noise while fast wireless charging is active.
- If the charger or Galaxy device generates heat during charging due to device use, or if the ambient temperature rises, the charging speed may be reduced to ensure safety and protect the device.
- Turning off your Galaxy phone or keeping the screen off during charging helps maximise charging speeds.
- Fast charging or Super fast charging may not be supported depending on the charger and Galaxy model, and the supported version of Super fast charging may vary.
- The maximum charging current varies depending on the remaining battery level of the Galaxy device. To help ensure safe charging and preserve battery life, the device does not charge at maximum power at all times.
If the issue persists after trying the steps above, use the diagnostics feature in the Samsung Members app to check wired and wireless charging.
Note: Phone diagnostics is available only on Galaxy devices with the Samsung Members app installed.
Note: Menu names, settings, and screen layouts may vary depending on the model and software version.
