How to master multitasking on Galaxy Z Fold8: multi window, taskbar, and split screen tips

The Multi window feature in the Galaxy Fold8, powered by One UI 9, elevates multitasking with smooth and seamless workflows through multi-window views. This allows you to run multiple supported apps simultaneously side-by-side, significantly enhancing productivity. The feature supports both two-way and three-way split views, enabling you to effortlessly switch between windows with a simple tap.

1 Tap Settings.
2 Select the Advanced features.
3 Choose Multi window.

The Taskbar gives you quick access to your favorite and recently used apps while you're using your Galaxy Z Fold8. Instead of returning to the Home screen, you can switch between apps or quickly open three or two apps side by side, making multitasking even more convenient on the large display. The Taskbar appears at the bottom of the screen while you're using apps, giving you quick access to your favorite apps, recently used apps, and App Pairs. If it isn't visible, you can enable it:

1 Open the Settings menu, then tap Display.
2 Tap Taskbar.
3 Tap the switch at the top of the screen to turn it on.

Note: The Taskbar is available only on supported Galaxy Z Fold models.

Split screen allows you to use two or three supported apps side by side, maximizing the large display on your Galaxy Z Fold8. Whether you're comparing information, taking notes while browsing the web, or watching a video while replying to messages, Split Screen helps you work more efficiently without constantly switching between apps.

1 Tap the Recent apps button.
2 Tap the app icon above the first app you want to use, then tap Open in split screen view.

3 Select supported app to open in the second window.
4 Select another supported app to open in the third window.
5 Drag the divider* between the three or two apps to adjust how much space each app uses.

*While using Split screen, tap the divider between the three or two apps to access additional options, such as switching the app positions or saving the current app combination as an App Pair for quicker access later.
