How to use Photo ambient wallpaper feature in Galaxy devices

Photo ambient wallpaper uses AI to dynamically alter your photos based on real-time weather and time of day. By utilizing the default location set in your weather app, this feature intelligently adapts your photos to reflect current conditions—whether it’s sunny, rainy, or snowing—and adjusts its appearance for morning, midday, evening, or nighttime settings.

Note: -

  • Screens and Images are simulated
  • Available feature and settings may vary by software version and phone model
  • Samsung Account must be logged in to use AI features
  • This feature works best with outdoor photos taken during daylight hours
  • Location services must be enabled in Settings > Location for the feature to function properly
  • You can also use routines to change wallpapers based on time periods, such as sunset to sunrise, for different daytime and nighttime looks

Here are the steps to use Photo ambient wallpaper feature

Swipe down the notification panel Swipe down the notification panel

1. Swipe down the notification panel.

Tap on Settings Tap on Settings

2. Tap on Settings.

3. Select Wallpaper and style.
Alternatively, touch and hold the background on your home screen > Wallpaper and style.

4. Tap on Change wallpapers.

5. Navigate to the Create with AI category, select Photo ambient.
* If a pop-up appears to set up, select Try now. It will also prompt to setup Weather app if it is not done.

6. Choose a photo to use as your lock screen background.

7. Adjust the photo’s position on the screen to your preference.

8. Tap the play icon to see a preview of the weather wallpaper animation.

4. Tap on Done to apply the animated effects to your lock screen wallpaper.

11. Effects* has successfully applied to the lock screen wallpaper.
*Effects may take some time to appear as your photo is being analyzed.
