How to install and uninstall Apps on your Samsung TV

Your Samsung Smart TV offers a wide range of Apps, including streaming services, games, and productivity tools, to create a personalized entertainment experience. The 2026 Samsung TV runs on One UI Tizen OS, providing faster and more intuitive access to your favorite Apps and services. This guide walks you through how to install new Apps, uninstall Apps you no longer need, and keep your Apps up to date.

Note: 

  • Menu names and available features may vary depending on your TV model, software version, and region.
  • All third-party logos/marks are trademarks/registered of respective third-party brands.
  • Images shown here for representational purpose only, actual may vary.

Before you install Apps:

To install Apps on your Samsung TV, make sure the following requirements are met:

  • Your TV is connected to a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet). Test the connection using another device on the same network if needed.
  • You are signed in with a Samsung account. A Samsung account is required to access the app store. If you do not have one, create an account directly on the TV or at samsung.com, then sign in.

How to install apps

Step 1.
Select the Search icon on the Home screen.

Step 2.
Search for the apps you want to install.

Step 3.
Select Install.

Step 4.
Once the installation is complete, you can select Open to launch the app immediately.

Note: Some apps appear in the recommended section on the apps screen. To install one, select the app to go directly to its installation page.

Deleting Apps you no longer use frees up storage space.

Step 1.
From the Home screen, select Apps.

Step 2.
Find an app you want to uninstall from Downloaded App.

Step 3.
Choose the app and press and hold the Select button on your remote.

Step 4.
When the options menu appears, select Delete.

Step 5.
When the confirmation pop-up appears, select Delete again to confirm.

Note: 

  • Deleting an app also removes all data associated with that app. If you change your mind, reinstall the app at any time from the Apps menu.
  • Some apps may not have the Delete option, or the option may be grayed out.
  • If you’re having trouble with your Samsung Smart TV, check for available software updates.
  • Screenshots may vary depending on your TV model and software version.

Keeping apps up to date ensures access to the latest features, performance improvements, and bug fixes.

 

Update apps manually

To update an app manually, go to APPS, select the app that requires an update, and select Update.

Step 1.
From the Home screen, select Apps.

Step 2.
Select the App Settings icon at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3.
Select an individual app and select Update to update it.

Select Update All to update all installed apps to the latest version.

Enable automatic updates to conveniently keep your apps up to date with the latest version. Go to APPS > Settings > set Auto Update to On.

Note: 

  • If the TV firmware is outdated, app updates may not install properly. Go to ‘Home > Settings > All Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now’ to check for and install the latest TV software.
  • If the TV does not have enough storage, app updates may fail. Delete unused apps to free up space.

After installing apps, you can add, remove, or rearrange apps displayed on the Home screen through the Now Playing section.

 

Add an app on the Home screen

Step 1.
On the Home screen, navigate to the Now Playing and select List Edit.

Step 2.
Find an app you want from the Choose the item you want to add section, then press the ▲ (Up) button on your remote to add it to the Home screen.

Step 3.
The selected app will be added to the app list on the Home screen.

Remove, or rearrange apps displayed on the Home screen

Step 1.
On the Home screen, navigate to the Now Playing and select List Edit.

Step 2.
Select an app, then use the Left or Right directional buttons on your remote to change its order. To remove an app from the Home screen, select it and press the Down button.

When you remove an app from the list, the app moves to the Choose the item you want to add section at the bottom of the screen.

Note: Removing an app from the Home screen does not uninstall it. The app remains installed on the TV and can be added back to the Home screen at any time through List Edit.
