How do I use Wi-Fi tethering (portable Wi-Fi hotspot) with my Samsung Galaxy Note 3?
Last updated: 16 May, 2014
The Wi-Fi hotspot feature lets you share your mobile device’s data connection with other devices by turning your device into a wireless access point. You can connect up to eight wireless devices via Wi-Fi.
Note: using your mobile device as a wireless access point is data-intensive and will dramatically reduce battery life. We recommend you check your contract with your mobile network operator to make sure you won't incur any surprising bills from the data use. We also recommend you keep your device plugged in while the hotspot feature is on.
Turning on the Hotspot
1. From the Home screen touch Apps .
2. Touch Settings .
3. Touch Hotspot .
4. Touch the switch to turn Hotspot on .
5. If you are connected to a wireless access point you will be disconnected from the access point before you can use the hotspot. Touch OK to continue.
Note: the icon is displayed at the top of your screen when the hotspot is turned on.
