The Wi-Fi hotspot feature lets you share your mobile device’s data connection with other devices by turning your device into a wireless access point. You can connect up to eight wireless devices via Wi-Fi.

Note: using your mobile device as a wireless access point is data-intensive and will dramatically reduce battery life. We recommend you check your contract with your mobile network operator to make sure you won't incur any surprising bills from the data use. We also recommend you keep your device plugged in while the hotspot feature is on.

Turning on the Hotspot

1. From the Home screen touch Apps Apps Icon .

2. Touch Settings Settings Icon .

3. Touch Hotspot  .

4. Touch the switch Slider Off to turn Hotspot on Slider On .

Hotspot On

5. If you are connected to a wireless access point you will be disconnected from the access point before you can use the hotspot. Touch OK to continue.

Note: the Hotspot Icon icon is displayed at the top of your screen when the hotspot is turned on.

Configure the Hotspot

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Apps Icon .

2. Touch Settings Settings Icon .

3. Touch Hotspot  .

4. Touch More options .

5. Touch Configure to edit the hotspot settings.

6. When configuring the feature, enter or edit the Network SSID (network name), select the Security type, enter or edit the Password (if required), and check Hide my device to make your network invisible.

7. Touch Show advanced options to configure the Broadcast channel and Maximum connections.

8. Touch Save to continue. The hotspot will turn off and turn back on with the newly configured settings.

Connecting to the Hotspot

1. Turn on the Wi-Fi feature on the device you want to connect to your mobile hotspot.

2. Search for your hotspot using the information shown on the hotspot settings screen and then enter the necessary information.

USB Tethering

Your mobile device can be used as a wireless modem. You can share your device’s mobile data connection with a single computer.

1. From the Home screen touch Apps Apps Icon .

2. Touch Settings Settings Icon .

3. Touch Tethering Settings Tethering Icon .

4. Connect your device to your computer using the USB cable that came with your device.

5. Place a check mark next to USB tethering to turn on the feature.

The USB tethering icon USB Tethering Active Icon  will display at the top of your screen. If the Wi-Fi feature is turned on you will need to turn it off before you can turn on tethering.

Note: installation of additional drivers may be required to tether your mobile device to your computer. If the drivers do not install automatically check your device’s support page for driver download links.
