How can I use the supported features in Samsung DeX

When you use Samsung DeX, a number of issues may arise that prevent you from getting the most out of the application. Knowing all the features available helps you use Samsung DeX in the most efficient way possible.

Samsung DeX offers a variety of features that help you get the most out of your work. To configure these features, refer to the instructions below:

You can change or add languages to the keyboard connected to your mobile device. To do so, follow these steps:

Step 1. Run your settings menu and tap the “General management” option.

Step 2. Click on the “Samsung keyboard” and go to “Languages and types”.

Step 3. On the next screen tap “Manage input languages” and add an input language.

Step 4. To choose the input language that you just added, go to the “General management” option.

Step 5. Tap “Physical keyboard” and choose the input language that you just added.

Step 6. Once you select the language, you will see the keyboard layouts supported by Android OS. Select the layout of the keyboard hardware that you use.

If you want to change your language using a shortcut, you can change the input language using a keyboard shortcut such as [Shift]+[Space], [Control]+[Space] or [Left Alt] +[Shift].

To turn certain keyboard shortcuts on or off, select “Change language shortcut” in the physical keyboard's settings.

Yes, you can use the keyboard shortcuts that are supported on a mobile device in Samsung DeX too.

To find out more about supported keyboard shortcuts, press the [F1] key on the Home screen or the [Windows], [Command] or [Search] key + the [/] key on your keyboard.

Step 1. Run your “Settings” menu and go to “General management”.

Step 2. Tap “Physical keyboard” and click on “Keyboard shortcuts”.

Some apps where content needs to be protected, such as video players, mobile banking apps or security solutions, have their own security features. So, their screens appear black and/or you can only hear audio. In that case, if you connect your mobile device to an external display device (e.g. a TV or monitor) through a cable to use Samsung DeX, the app screen will appear as normal.

To play a game with a keyboard or mouse on Samsung DeX, the game app needs to support the keyboard and mouse input. Please contact the app developer for assistance.
