How to customize Accessibility settings on your Galaxy phone

Accessibility settings on your mobile device help those with limited sight, hearing impairments, or difficulties with interaction and dexterity. If you need to set up special features to help you use your phone, follow this guide to find your accessibility options.

Note: Device screenshots and menus may vary depending on the device model and software version.

Available Accessibility settings

Having some trouble using your phone? No worries, there's plenty of features to help you out. From Settings, search for and select Accessibility. Then, choose your desired option:

  • TalkBack

If you are visually impaired and require extra aid when navigating your phone, activate the TalkBack feature. Talkback is a Voice Assistant so your phone can provide spoken feedback when you select items or go through tutorials. 

To locate Screen Reader, navigate to Settings and then swipe to and tap Accessibility. Tap TalkBack, and then tap the switch at the top of the screen. Review the information, and then tap Allow to activate. Follow the tutorial for an interactive explanation of the features.

  • Visibility enhancement

Customize the settings to improve accessibility for visually impaired users. The Visibility enhancements allow you to change the font size and style, contrast, and color to meet your needs.

From Settings, swipe to and tap Accessibility, and then tap Visibility Enhancements. Swipe up to see all the convenient options for improving your screen.

  • Hearing enhancement

Customize the settings to improve accessibility for users with hearing impairment. The Hearing or Audio enhancements adjusts the audio to your hearing or lets you use alternatives like text.

From Settings, swipe to and tap Accessibility. Tap Hearing enhancements to view the list of features.

  • Interaction and dexterity

Customize the settings to improve accessibility for users who have reduced dexterity. It allows you to enhance or replace touch interactions and other controls.

  • Advanced settings

Configure settings for Direct access and notification features like using the Power and Volume keys to quickly open Accessibility settings and other advanced functions.

From Settings, swipe to and tap Accessibility. Tap Advanced settings, and then choose your desired option.

  •  Installed services

View accessibility services installed on the device.

From Settings, swipe to and tap Accessibility. Tap Installed services to view a complete list of accessibility apps that you’ve installed from the Play Store or Galaxy Store. You can turn the apps on or off from this screen by tapping each one and then tapping the switch. Tap Settings to open the settings list for the app.
