What phones are compatible with the Galaxy Watch?

Galaxy Watches help to track your way to wellness, providing motivation towards the goals that you want to achieve. While the Galaxy Watch works best with Samsung devices, it can be connected to a range of Android and iOS devices.

Please note: depending on the phone you are using and the Galaxy Watch you are connecting to, some features and functions may be unavailable

Samsung phones

Samsung smartphones provide the best experience with Galaxy Watches and the Galaxy Wearable app, helping you to make the most of your smart devices. Compatibility with Galaxy Watches will depend on the version of Android your device can support. Find out what version of Android your device is using.

 

  • Galaxy Watch4, Galaxy Watch3, Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Fit2, Galaxy Fite: phones running Android 5.0 or higher with 1.5GB RAM or more are compatible

Please note: if you Galaxy device can download the Galaxy Wearable app, it is compatible with the devices above

  • All previous models: phones running Android 4.3 or higher with 1.5GB RAM or more are compatible

Please note: Samsung devices released from 2021 are incompatible with select Galaxy Gear devices. Find out more here

Android phones

  • Galaxy Watch3, Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Fit2, Galaxy Fite: phones running Android 5.0 or higher with 1.5GB RAM or more are compatible

 

  • Gear Live, Gear S2, Gear Fit 2, Gear S3, Gear Sport, Gear Fit2 Pro: phones running Android 4.3 or higher with 1.5GB RAM or more are compatible

 

  • Galaxy Watch4: may not work with all phones running Android 5.0 or higher, in particular Huawei devices

 

  • Gear 1, Gear2, Gear S, Gear Fit: these smart watches are not compatible with non-Samsung device

Please note: ECG and BP features are only available to use with the Samsung Health Monitor app. The Samsung Health Monitor app is currently only available on Samsung Galaxy devices

iOS phones

Please note: connections between the Galaxy Watch and iPhone 6S and 6S+ devices running iOS 10 and later may be unstable. To fix the connection, access your Bluetooth settings and unpair all connected Bluetooth devices except the Galaxy Watch. Then turn your Bluetooth off and on again

  • Galaxy Watch3, Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Watch Active, Galaxy Watch,  Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Fit2, Galaxy Fite, Gear Live, Gear S2, Gear Fit 2, Gear S3, Gear Sport, Gear Fit2 Pro: iPhones higher than the iPhone 5 running iOS 9 or higher are compatible

 

  • Galaxy Watch4: is not compatible with iOS devices

 

  • Gear 1, Gear 2, Gear S, Gear Fit: these smart watches are not compatible with non-Samsung devices

ECG and BP features are only available to use with the Samsung Health Monitor app. The Samsung Health Monitor app is currently only available on Samsung Galaxy devices.

The Samsung Health Monitor app is available on the Galaxy Watch Active2 and later models, which support the sensors needed to measure blood pressure and ECG. Please update your Galaxy Watch and Galaxy mobile device to the latest version.

The Samsung Health Monitor is supported by Galaxy wearables running Tizen 4.0.0.8 or higher, and Galaxy mobile devices running Android 7.0 or higher.
