My portable SSD(blue) fell out of my pocket because I put it in the same pocket where I kept my small-change(bus-fare)...Anyways, I started to jog across the cross-walk, and as I removed my hand with a small fist-full of coins; here also my Brand-New Samsung SSD comes flying out of my pocket..! As I watch helplessly, it seems like everything is happening in slow-motion. When my SSD hit the pavement, it hit the very corner and edge of the device and continued spinning and I was sure it was now broken and useless...But do you know, what? when I picked it up finally, there wasn't even a scratch AND it worked perfectly! TY for such a durable device.

I purchased this portable SSD about a year ago, and it is still going strong! I have the one terabyte version of the t7, and I share it between my entire family. Between the use of all of my family members, this storage unit has been able to store all of our photos, and be durable enough to withstand any sort of situation we put it in so far. This portable storage device has been amazing in terms of storing photos from our Samsung devices, and from storing photos and videos from our professional cameras. Because of the USB-C port, and the amazing included cables, we are able to transfer photos and videos extremely quickly.

Right out of the box, I knew this was going to be super easy to setup and use. It even comes with two cables to plug into with a standard USB to USB-C or USB-C to USB-C. All you have to do is plug it in and run the software install file that pops up. Setup even let's you encrypt the drive for privacy or you can leave it off if you wish. Deciding if you want to encrypt or not is the hardest part of setup and use. Samsung has done it again! The drive doesn't get too hot and maintains its speed without over heating because of its thermal control feature it has. The T7 is very compact and lightweight for easy transport and it won't take up too much storage space in your case.

My portable Samsung drive has always been by my side whether in my bookbag or my satchel it's always ready to go the material it's made from is both light and durable and the connectors are solid. I've had mine over two years now and it's still kicking strong and looks to last me years to come. Great durability amazing encryption capabilities and overall a great partner during my day to day. It's ability to transfer large amounts of information and still stay cool are amazing as well. I can easily transfer 1tb within a couple of hours and it'll still stay thermally cool. Great job Samsung. 👏

I got this portable drive a couple months ago. I got it because I am a wrestling coach and was recording all the matches. In no time my phone memory was filled up with videos and I had no room to even use my phone. This sleek little feller right here is awesome. It magnetized to my mag safe phone and the best part is that it is paper thin and light weight, so it's like it's not even there. It connects to my Galaxy tab s10 ultra, my s23 ultra, and my surface pro 9 seamlessly. Which allows me to transfer data with ease. It's so compact that I bring it everywhere. P

Wow, thats what I have to say about the speed of this drive. It's quick! I love the size and the fact that it comes with two different usb c cables. The encryption is nice. I like the security knowing that if I lose the drive I dont have to worry about the data on it. It fits in my backpack with my laptop and goes everywhere it does. I will say this. I would like to see a different finish on the drive that has a little stick to it. thats the only thing that comes to mind that needs improvement. love this little drive. 1 TB also :) an updae after I have been able to use the drive for a little bit. its fast, it doesnt get hot. the thermal control feature works well on this drive. I can leave in on my lap and it barely gets warm.

I bought a product that was compact and had significant memory - and Samsung Portable SSD T7 1TB hit the mark. The device is very user-friendly, as you simply plug in the UBS cord to the computer and portable hard drive. I used the portable drive to back up my entire computer, and I used less than 30% of the available space on the drive. Bottom line: this device is easy to use, functional, has a lot of capacity, and copies folders and files relatively quickly. Samsung could have provided a sleeve or case to protect the portable harddrive.

I am using this 1TB T7 drive to run Linux Fedora. I boot my laptop with the driver plugged into the USB port and am presented with a menu from which I can either boot Linux from the T7 or Windows from the internal SSD. The responsiveness of the drive is such that I feel as though I'm running Linux from an internal SSD. I love the drive. I've also got a 2TB drive about which I've not yet decided how I will put it to use. The drive is physically very small and very durable. I purchased a case that holds both drives securely.

The portable memory is super important for me due to transferring files while I'm traveling with my son that plays national travel baseball. I can work and unload my phone as much as I need to free up new space and I seem to never get close to running out after hundreds of videos and thousands of pictures. Sometimes I forget to unload before we head out of town, but this little guy is super slim and fits in my laptop bag unnoticeable to use when I need it. Thanks for always making great products, Samsung!!

i got this portable ssd t7 1t for christmas. first i don't know what is is or how to use it. trying to find the model and serial numbers was a challenge they are so small! then registering was not easy with all the password and secret code stuff that takes 16 tries to make it work. and i still don't know what to do with this thing! are there instructions anywhere? i got two wires with it. what do i do with them? why does this little device also require a password? passwords are a nightmare for me.

This portable SSD is great. I've been using it for a while to store images from my phone, and the transfer is pretty quick. It doesn't disconnect randomly either, which is an issue I had with some of my thumb drives. Overall, I'd recommend it to anyone who takes lots of photos and want's some storage space. However, the reason why it's four stars for me is that transferring larger files or saving updated files does take a bit (as in hefty programs like clip studio pro and adobe after effects, etc.)

I bought this a month ago because my laptop only had 256GB. It's so nice to have a 1TB extra space since I have a lot of files for my college. I liked the 1TB memory space so much that I'm considering buying the galaxy book 5 (since it has the 1TB memory space). I also liked how light weight and slim it is. The ssd is so easy to carry around. I didn't want anything heavy since I have to walk everyday, but the ssd doesn't even take up any space in my bag and you can't even feel the weight.

I’m a gamer. I’d been wanting a reliable external SSD so I could have increased flexibility with games, sometimes I use different platform, or visit a friend. This SSD is substantially smaller than my phone or wallet making it extremely easy to transport. I love it’s small physical size and it’s large storage size, but my favorite feature is how fast it is. It’s faster than some internal SSDs making it much better for games. It decreases load times and increases gameplay. I love it!

I bought it just to free up memory on my laptop that wasn't really necessary to have stored on the computer. It is small enough to always have with me as i work on the road. But I soon found out that it is much more capable. Now that I have a gaming laptop, I found that it is fast enough to install the games straight to the SSD and not clog up my laptop's storage. I would definitely recommend this SSD, as well as the other Samsung brand storage I have used. Top tier products!

If you are using this on ONLY Windows or ONLY Mac, you won't have any trouble. However, if you are trying to swap between the two, it's a data loss nightmare. You have to have a software for it to even show up on a Mac, and it has to be reformatted to be read - which wipes your data. Not reversible. Every other drive I've used has been ready to go in whatever you plug it into, so this was a shock and made my data transfer a lot harder than it needed to be.

I had no idea you could get a good quality portable SSD for this cheap. I'm a photographer so digital storage is a must, and having 1 TB will hold me over for a bit. Having a device that is portable is a definite bonus. I didn't need to download a app, it was automatically combatible with my phone. As soon as I connect to my phone it's ready to start saving pictures. This is the first storage device I've owned that performed this fast.

Recently I traveled with my phone Samsung S24 ultra. Unfortunately while in the airplane somebody hacked my phone. Only choice I had was to reset losing all the data. It was a stressful moment for me. Then I decided to buy an external SSD and backup my phone regularly. I decided to buy this product. I bought this about 3 months ago and love it. It has a security code to unlock it so you can put your secure files on it or important pictures, videos, etc. It's easy to use just plug it in and install the t7 setup and it walks you through setting it up. It keeps your memory on my laptop clear so it runs faster and don't have to worry about viruses on my computer. Overall everything i expected and then some. A+++ RATINGS.

I bought 2 of the 1 TB units, one for me and the other for my wife. They just sit there, perform, quietly with no noise or vibration. Setting up for Mac required reformatting which was easy to do. I also bought 2 of the 2 TB for backing up, which also perform very nicely. I love the fact they have no moving parts, and are very small, the size of a thick credit card. And they came with both USB and USB-C cables.

When stationary, our T7 is connected to a USB-C port of our PC, and it delivers an excellent data throughput at all times. And this drive is so light and portable that it fits any shirt or pant pocket when we are on the go. As long as you can find the room for the cable, a drive cannot be much more portable than this. Be sure to download the Samsung Magician software, by the way, when using this or any Samsung SSD.

As a student, I love the size and simplicity of the product. It's so easy to keep it being so handy. For this small size, with a big storage, I believe I'm set to utilize this tool for my school needs. Great product! I transferred about 1,800 GoPro photos from my Macbook and the portable SSD T7 remained at optimal temperature. So far so good at this point! Great addition for my Macbook! It’s a great way to expand my laptop’s limited internal storage. The T7 connects over fast USB 3.x, so file transfers feel almost as quick as working from built‑in storage. This drive is perfect. At first the price of the drive was reasonable so I picked one up. Wish I picked up to at that time if I had known the price would triple. The drive is perfect...perfect size, perfect speed and just enough capacity to backup my entire TB1 Samsung phone. Its very portable and can easily connect directly to my phone. Nothing negative to say and love these drives! My only comment is that despite the fact that the ExFat default formatting will technically work on a Mac, in reality many applications do not like it and it can cause issues. Unless you have a need to use it on both a Mac and Windows machine and/or Android device I recommend just immediately reformatting to APFS using Disk Utility.

I bought this drive 1TB to back up my wife's computer and cell phone. It's comparably faster writing large files to it compared to my T5 512GB SSD drive. Roughly same size and very compact to carry with you. Both versions I have are made in Korea. They are both very good build quality aluminum cased. AAA+ *The protective case I store it in is optional not supplied by Samsung*

This hard drive has been a great help for mobile transfers, quick transfers, and generally relieving my devices of items that could be transferred to different, more long-term storage. I also use it to take clips from my Xbox and transfer them to YouTube or Instagram as well as photo storage. It has never let me down and can even run programs like Final Cut Pro from it.

I use this on my computer to double the storage and it works great. It comes with a USB A and a USB C cable, so it's compatible with virtually any device. The size is great also. This hard drive is exactly what the packaging, reviews, and website states. It is super fast and as long as you have a newer laptop/ desktop, you won't skip a beat. With Windows 11, your computer will think it is permanently attached. Excellwnt read/ write capabilities and the security is top notch as well. A great portable drive.

I bought this based on a YouTube recommendation. It works great with my S 22 Samsung phone. Very easy to use and seamless. Though it’s not very straightforward on how to get rid of some of your pre-existing back ups. I would highly recommend it if you don’t want to back up your phone to the cloud and put your personal data at risk.

This is exactly what I needed for my sound sample libraries. Anyone with speed issues is either 1. Using a poor cable 2. Using a socket that is not usb 3.2. Copying my library to z 7200hdd usually takes several hours. This did it in less than 20minutes. Load times greatly improved. This drive is not 1000Gb it is 1Tb still plenty.

I got it for the black friday, an incredible price and I can notice that it's a really good product, It is simple to ude, you can do it with your pfone, tablet but I notice it simplest using it on the computer, it is so fast and its actually pretty small so its no gonna bother you if you have to travel or doing something outdoors

I bought this product 2ish years ago and I had a couple hiccups but nothing too major. I accidentally got it wet and saw the dreaded red light, I left it out to dry and came back and it worked though. It is so small and fits in your pocket. The speeds are insanely fast and it still to this day holds my mission critical files.

I have owned this portable SSD for years now. I absolutely love it. I love that I can secure it with a password. I plan on purchasing newer SSD's with more memory for my new buisness. My current one has served me well. Transfer speeds are incredible. I can't imagine how the new ones are as this one was one of the originals.

Samsung says this drive is compatible with Macintosh OS but if you do a search on Apple Support Community you'll find most Mac users using Sonoma (the current version) are unable to mount the drive on their Macs. It really is false advertising by Samsung to say that this drive works with a Mac - because it doesn't.

I love this T 7 Shield 1 GB because it is so easy to connect to my Android S 24 and easily holds all of my photos videos that take so much storage and memory of my laptop and cell phone. The T 7 Shield has wicked fast transfer speed, and it's solid design saves it from damage if dropped on the floor. Resistance.

Ive owned one since 2019 and have all my pictures stored in there. Coming from a hard drive where ive lost many years worth of pictures due to corrupted files, this is a must for me. No pictures or videos corrupted. Still going strong. I literally have no reason to upgrade unless i need more storage.

In purchasing this item, there are no directions added to show how to properly operate the device, the one that I purchased locked itself and I had to send it back to Samsung to get them to reset the drive. Proper operating instructions could have possibly helped prevent this from happening.

I got this device probably 3 months ago not expecting much and actually expecting some problems but when I connected it up it works exactly how I wanted it. It had high transfer speeds and works just like a internal ssd. One of the best purchases I've ever made. I still got room for games.

I have has this Samsung 1 TB external SSD now for about a year or more. I have used it so many times transferring stuff from one computer to another , storing my mp3 collection and files, photos and much more. Fast , reliable and small. Pocket sized powerhouse. Travels well in a hard case.

I bought my 1TB Samsung external storage. it is an SDD External hard drive and it is well worth the investment whether you need it for local storage. Or if you want to just use it to back up important documents so if something happens to the originals you will still have still have them

Very good portability. Adding a sleeve on a laptop makes it always accessible and just need to get a good dedicated short usbc and basically increase capacity of device. Inbox cable not very good and gets a little finicky to use. Gets quite warm but should be throttled to prevent damage.

This SSD is the best portable device i have used so far: it's very small and light, packs plenty of space, it's ultra fast, it's secure and it's more reliable than a classic HDD or flash. At this point, not even sure there's a reason to go back to carrying around flash sticks anymore.

I absolutely love my T7 portable storage. I use it for work to keep up with important documents and large files. It is so easy to travel with and super compact and slim enough to slide in my backpack. It can also fit in with my electrics kit for ease. I highly recommend this to anyone!

Bought it a week ago. Haven't had any major issues except for the security. Put in a password and it said it was incorrect when I tried logging back in to it a day later. I know it's the correct password because I wrote it down before I entered it the first time. Had to format it.

Perfect for on the go usage. I do a lot of airial video and photography. This was is small, slim, and transfers data super fast from myavix drone. Do rom it's USB on the drone or off the controller itself. Def recommend getting a couple of these. You won't be disappointed,

Worse than no drive. After only weeks of use it already randomly disconnects or won't connect, making data transfer a huge pain if not impossible. It's a complete toss-up whether or not this will do anything when I plug it in. I will never buy a Samsung product again.

Got this to supplement the memory on my Xbox series x. I install the X/S games to the internal and the optional drive they made specifically for the Xbox. I install all games that are not specifically for x/s to this drive. It has worked great for several years now.

I purchased this somewhere around 9 months ago. The build quality is pretty sturdy, but the adhesive on the model info sticker failed after a while. Besides that, the speed is what I expect, and it worked great with Linux, Windows, and Android.

That is the reputation of Samsung's quality on SSD drives for many years. For the last couple of years, Samsung's T5 has been considered to be the best portable SSD without a doubt. T7 takes the crown from T5 for several reasons. Also I had a high hope for the new Samsung T7, and it does not disappoint. Here's why: - Speed: It is FAST; On Windows 10 PC via USB 3.2 Gen2 port, I get 980MB read, 910MB write (sequential). On my Macbook Pro via Thunderbolt3 port, I get 880MB read, and 810MB write. It takes less than 10 seconds to transfer my 8GB 4K video into T7; Impressive performance. - Portability: it is exactly same size as credit card, and weighs almost nothing. (feel like 2oz on my hand) - Hardware encryption: T7 has secure mode with password protection; software to enable/disable security is easy and straightforward to use. I would highly recommend Samsung T7 to anyone needs portable storage device.
