This is a great, fast, reliable external drive. I now have 3 and am about to purchase a 4th. The only reason I am giving this 4 rather than 5 stars is because they are difficult to label. I've tried permanent maker and it wears off, labels or tape won't stick to the silicone, and the cord disconnects so labeling that wont work. I also think this should come in more colors - from both a marketing standpoint, and it would be easier to keep track of which SSD is which! For reference - I am a full-time photographer and use this to store tons of large files. The speed of this drive has improved my workflow and the portability is awesome for travel.

What is there not to like about a well designed and engineered product. It fits easily in a shirt or pants pocket and is a few mm larger than a credit card, 12 cards thick and much smaller than my wallet. I also like the ribbed thick rubber enclosure as it's not that rubberized paint or coated plastic that turns to a sticky glue feeling after a few years. I use it mostly to backup my cell phone and to transfer files between phones, Laptops, and PCs. I plan to test it with my router to see if it works as a media storage device. Overall, I am very pleased with the Portable SSD T7 Shield USB 3.2 2TB (Black) and plan on purchasing more.

I had an older external drive I used as an extension to my desktop, as well as a backup device - it was starting to show it's age! As I looked around for a replacement device this Samsung T7 caught my eye! Once I got it home it took my breath away! It is small and sleek, and well-designed. It sits on the corner of my desk, makes zero noise, and generates very little heat - but it does deliver. The speed when backing up my internal drive is insane - I have never seen anything this fast! The 600GB backup that used to take 3 - 4 hours is now done in 58 minutes - it is screaming fast! I love it - and would recommend it to everyone I meet. A great find!!

Bought this to be able to easily move big data files from workstation at the office to the house. Cloud storage got so cheap it made more sense so it has been plugged into my daughter's Gaming PC as a third drive and let's her move game files without having to pull the rigs wires. She loves it and it has worked flawless. It's not blazing fast by today speeds but way more than adequate for most tasks. She runs Red Dead 2 off it with no issues. It has also been DROPPED several times so the protective casing is well built and stylish. Does everything you would need for a mobile drive that gets thrown in bags by kids...

I’ve been using the Samsung T7 Shield 2TB for a few years now as the main storage for my Plex server, running 24/7 without a break—and it’s been absolutely flawless. Not once has it overheated, crashed, or given me any reason to worry. The drive stays cool even under constant load, which honestly surprised me. I’ve had other SSDs in the past that either slowed down or got warm over time, but not this one. Transfer speeds are still fast, and it’s just as reliable today as it was when I first plugged it in. For anyone who needs dependable, long-term performance—especially in a setup that’s always on—I can’t recommend this drive enough. It’s just solid, no-nonsense quality.

I've had my Samsung 2tb T7 Shield portable SSD since November 2023 and am totally pleased with it's easy-to-use software and interface. I also have the 1tb T7 Shield that I purchased over 2 years ago and it too is still going strong. I love the Samsung Magician software that they interface with, it keeps me on top of the performance of them. I plan on purchasing the Samsung 4tb T7 shield soon as I have filled up both others. My best advice is to buy the largest SSD as you can afford to begin with because they work so easy and seamlessly that you're going to fill it up before you know it.

Honestly a beautiful and performance device. The shape is very nice, very sleek and modern. I'm sure it also contributes to the toughness of the drive should you drop it. I definitely like the beige color as it matches some of the aesthetics in my home so I dont really feel the need to put it away and hide when I'm don't like some other boring ones. Its like a little desk accessory that happens to store 2TBs of my life's work. The performance of the drive is great for retrieving files with ease, or working on apps and large videos files directly on the drive. Engineering excellence.

I've bought the SSD one year ago. I've bought this for my storage purpose I'm a video creator o shot and edit travel videos so I had the issue of having the space issue in the mobile. So I've decided to bought a ssd I've searched N number of products in the section of SSD since I'm a samsung ecosystem member I've brought the samsung ssd T7 shield. Which was the best decision I've made.The data transfer speed is impeccable from phone to ssd and ssd to tab or laptop. And the ssd is comes with a hard case which protects the SSD from both dust and water resistant. I've dropped the device in water once and there is no data loss from the device. One of the best SSD's you can bought from the market with in the budget.

I purchased this drive in January and have been using it on my MacBook Pro M1 since February. I have been noticing very slow performance from FCPX but never thought to check the SSD until this week. I used Black Magic and saw abyssmal read/write numbers of around 38 MB/s! I tried using 3 different cables, no change. I tried connecting to another new iMac M1, no change. I tried re-formatting with exFAT, no change. I tried reformatting with MacOS Journaled, no change. I am going to see if I can get Samsung to replace the drive with a new one.

Thus came with the galaxy book4 ultra which is a really impressive laptop for everything. It's designed to run anything you wish to run. Anyway beside that, this really dope SSD came along with it which I thought was a really good deal because this SSD has really fast transfer speeds. I've ran a couple games to test it out and it never disappointed. I even ran gaming programs which it still ran it smooth with no problems. I highly recommend this SSD if your looking for a SSD because of its high speed and large capacity storage.

I can use my Samsung SSD to take my PC games wherever I go without the need to download them on multiple computers. I don't have to worry about the drive breaking and losing everything on the drive if I accidentally drop it. It works flawlessly across all brands of windows machines. I just plug it in and immediately I have access to all my installed games and software. With 2TB of storage, I've never needed to stress about whether I have the space to install new games or software that I want to take with me wherever I travel.

I am a long-term Samsung loyal consumer based on experiences and not product hype. So when reviewing this portable drive like many prior purchases there is a high standard of expectations in need of validation and yet again I can easily say this product checks all the boxes from performance to Aesthetics to durability and beyond. This is a higher end model and it clearly shines filling those shoes. They didn't cut any corners on this product hence why I remain loyal to the brand. Def not cheap but you get what you pay for.

this drive is fast, durably built and light - about the size of a credit card. samsung is a leader in hard drives and this unit does not disappoint but make sure your system can take advantage of the speed this drive can provide. speed tests: i use crystaldiskmark for speed tests. using my samsung galaxy 360 laptop using thunderbolt 4.0, i got 1070 mb/s read and 1016 mb/s write. using usb c & usb 3.2 connections i got 463 mb/s read and 455 mb/s write speeds. 3-year limited warranty activity light is on the same side as cable connection, so just a tad hard to see unless you flip drive the t7 is a tad pricey but considering size, weight, speed advantage and nearly 0 chance of it being damaged – it is a great portable option, and i would highly recommend it.

When looking for a new SSD portable a while back, this definitely caught my eye! I already know Samsungs products last, and have great performance, but I wanted to make sure this one would be tough as well! Have not been disappointed! While being almost ridiculously small for its 2TB, its fully wrapped in a casing that almost screams 'drop me! I dare ya' While I haven't yet, partially since that casing also creates a anti-slip feature, it was purchased to hold car software for my laptop, so its not always handled that nice, often in a rush to setup, look something up, and go back to work.. dirty, grimy hands, swapping from usb to usb c ports depending on laptop, sitting in whatever weather, whereever I set up, has never been an issue! It's always ready to grab and go!

Its a solid ssd pun not intended it has issues with formatting some times hence the 4 star review but samsung magic dose catch most issues. I havent had any issues traveling with it so its nice that I can go far distance with out braking. Its a fast ssd and thats nice but it dose get white hot to get there. Transferring data to and from it works just fine ive had some issues with it on Linux but If your just doing the basic work. Ive has it for a few years now so it is quite resilient. Overall really solid product.

This SSD is literally one of the best SSD's I've had. It came with two USB cord types for easy connectivity to my laptop, phone, tablet, and even my desktop. The storage easily allows me to safe and keep high-quality videos and photos, without having to delete them to get extra space. As a content creator, that is really helpful. The material is also super strong and durable and withstand falling on just about any surface. Overall, the performance of the device is a 10/10 for a pocket-sized device.

It's very easy to use and manage. I wish there was a better system to automatically organize duplicate files and folders though. And I wish it could transfer videos faster. Surprisingly, playing steam games from these SSDs is fast enough. I thought I would have lagging issues because I didn't get the "faster" SSDs, but it does fine. It's also very durable for how clumsy I am, though I wish there was some type of cover for the hole openings. I bought a blue and a beige version.

I happen to already have a lot of Samsung devices, but when I was looking for portable storage to be able to easily store my pictures and videos from my drone, I was just looking for the most affordable option. So it was a very pleasant surprise that the best value I could find happened to be from a very reputable brand that I've already had very good experience with, like Samsung. No other option had the combination of storage capacity, speed, while also being rugged with protection against shock and water, as the Samsung T7 shield. The fact that it's very sharp looking in a convenient package, and made by Samsung, were all bonuses that made it a no lose easy choice for me. 1 year later, it has been as good and reliable as expected. And speed at which I'm able to transfer huge files from my phone, still surprises me.

Over the years I've accumulated a number of HDD external hard drives. The company changed hands and now newer computers won't recognize them, although they are all still in good condition. I've seen Samsung SSDs on new computers and have one, so Samsung helped me make this transition to SSDs. Many computers coming out these days are sealed up with SSDs and have no choice of changing out the internal hard drive for a bigger one. I'm even looking at NVMe drives.

I recently purchased the Portable SSD T7 Shield USB 3.2 2TB in Beige, and I'm thoroughly impressed. This little drive combines style and performance beautifully. I own several of the T7 Shield 2 TB USB 3.2 portable SSD drives. They are very small, has rubber casing surrounding for drop and weather protection, and are very fast and reliable. I use them to backup my Samsung Ultra phones using Samsug Smart Switch is as simple as it gets. I also use to backup critical data files from the desktop PC for use when I am traveling with my laptop. I love having different colors making it easy to identify which drive to use.

Set up my T7 with Microsoft Bitlocker as I intended to use it for confidential information. Worked fine at first but after a little while the read/write speed dropped to 20 MB/s from the original 700 MB/s. Returned to Samsung, they found nothing wrong and updated the firmware. On return, speed was back to 700 MB/s until I re-installed Bitlocker; speed back to 20 MB/s. Re-formatted the drive, high speed returned. Great drive BUT not if you use Bitlocker.

I really was excited when I purchased this product especially being that its a portable SSD and with how flagships have non expandable storage. I can transfer and save data across all my devices, laptop, tablet, phone etc. And what's convenient is both usb-A and usb-C connector comes in the box. Great back up option especially for people who don't keep their old phones. I wish this was out years ago when I just got my first type c phone the galaxy S8.

The Samsung Portable SSD T7 is very durable and the perfect size to take anywhere. With incredible speed and large capacity you can back up images and files or use it to take videos. It remains cool and runs fast. And the best part is the shock resistance! I really like that you can password protect it. The size of a credit card and very light! Goodbye slow large heavy hard drives and Welcome ultra fast light weight pocket size data storage!

Very easy to set up and use this portable drive and the Magician Software makes implementation of password or fingerprint reader for security easy and fast. Drive transfer and read/write speeds are great and I have not had any issues with the drive "lock" during pretty regular usage. Highly recommend a drive from the T7 Shield line to store any important personal documents and records or any important files you want to keep safe and secure.

Have purchased 3 of these devices. 2 of the fingerprint protection capable T7 touch SSD's and 1 of the rugged dust/water resistant T7 Shield's. They are all amazing. If Samsung was to make the app work on Android properly It would be amazing! I have to connect them to my computer to update the login, password and/or fingerprint if need be. The android app does not recognize any of the devices when they are connected. I have cleared the cache, reinstalled...all the normal procedures to try to get the app to work again to no avail. The app is useless. The devices themselves, and actually including nice thick fast cables is nice! The short length of the cables leaves something to be desired but the inclusion is nice. 3 out of 5 for the constant frustration of having to connect the devices to my computer instead of having a working app for android.

The load time for all my apps have been excellent, and I really love the sleek design of the device. I do wish it came with both a USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cable together. The software that comes with it is a little bit of a resource hog, but it works well for what's needed. Works very well with my solid state drive, which is also Samsung. Read times are day, load time are solid, and the space paid for is actually close to what is usable.

After purchasing this about a month ago I am blown away at its ability to plug and play. I while traveling in my briefcase and even my pocket. This thing is a Beast. II no longer worry about accidentally bumping it and losing all my data. It is an absolute life saver for anybody. Looking to transfer files, documents, games, etc. And the transfer speed is absolutely unmatched. I can transfer a 100 gigs of data in literally seconds.

Absolutely loving my new SSD! I have been using it for work and personal with my photos. This this is seriously fast!!! I remember when my external drive used to be huge and require its own power supply and now I can comfortably fit it inside my laptop bag without all the extra hassle. Another benefit although it is something small, I love the rubberized feel to it which gives that extra sense of safety when handling it.

I absolutely love the Shield USB 3.2 2 terabyte hard drive. I have four of them that I keep one on each of my cameras and absolutely love. I have never had any trouble with any of the Samsung storage devices that I own and I must own anywhere from 10 to 15 or more different storage devices from Samsung. They are the only storage devices that I trust with all of my photos and videos and even backing up my register system.

This is the best portable SSD drive I have used. Speed is great. It works with PC, phone and tablet. The most important featuer is the password enabled encryption for the whole drive. With the app, I have no probto lock and unlock and upgrade the firmware. The plastic/rubber casing adds extra protection to the drive. Also, USB-c to USB-c and USB-c to USB-A cables included are of high quality. Highly Recommended.

I love the rubberized finish on the device. It gives it such a rugged feel. I certainly won't be throwing it around, but it reminds me that I don't have to worry about the occasional bump. Speeds for transfers are always great, which is important when moving large quantities of files or doing backups. I also like the included ruggedized cables included. They are just the right length and have premium connectors.

I bought this over a year ago and have never regretted it. It's so great that there is a manufacturer like Samsung that you can rely on in terms of quality and reliability. I really liked this drive because of its stable operation, speed, excellent configuration of two USB cables, type-c and regular, they are made with high quality and do not wear out. Also, the design is wonderful, the rubberized case works 100%.

I purchased this a couple of months ago, and it's absolutely incredible—super fast and compact, it truly feels like a supercomputer in my hands. I've always faced challenges with storage devices in terms of formatting and erasing, but this SD card is on another level. The first thing I did was partition the overall space to organize different types of files and software, and I couldn't be happier with it.

I purchased this 6 months ago for my PS5. Since the PS5 only comes with 1tb of memory I got this primarily for the PS5 games I downloaded and a few PS5 games I don't play too often. I love it! Games load and play just as fast as if they're on my internal storage. I already had the 1tb version but since it worked so well and I filled it up so fast I jumped on the 2tb when it was on sale for Black Friday.

I was almost unable to use my trusty Surface Pro 7, because the internal ssd was getting full. Adding external storage was difficult without compromising portability. Enter the T7 Shield and my problems were solved! This thing is fast, reliable and expensive portable. I've attached it to the back of my surface with double sided tape and it gives me the extra 2TB without compromising my mobility.

I had bought this SSD because my old hard drive wasn't working properly out of nowhere and I am a person who travels a lot and works with a lot of clients which means I handle a lot of data. This has been a lifesaver for me. It's enough memory for me to store huge video files although I wish there was a 4 terabyte version. But it's quick responsive and very ergonomic. My favorite SSD so far!

I bought this for my photography needs, such as editing and transferring photos. And it works great. I am able to have all my photos on my T7 Shield so I can work on my projects at home or at school or wherever. The writing speeds are great and have experienced no hiccups when using it to transfer files. I would recommend it because it was one of the cheaper ones I found and it works amazing.

As a semi-pro photographer I like to be able to back up my photos on the go. The portability and durability of the SSDs I choose is crucial to making sure the shots I get are preserved for eventual selection, editing, and publishing or posting. I love the compact nature of this drive. It is easy to throw into my computer bag and go. My previous was the size of a hardback novel. Unlike my previous drive, there are no moving parts to be damaged if it gets bumped or moved. It is a great add on if your computer has limited space for files, photos and movies. I also like that it comes with both a traditional USB cord and a USB C cord.

I bought two of these within weeks of each other to have expanded memory for my son's and husband's Xbox Series X's. I got them at what I thought was a good price and both my son and husband appreciate that they don't have to wait a long time to download and play their games having that extra memory. I bought this about a month ago because I had too many files, photos, downloads on my phone. It was so easy to connect...plugged it in to my phone and just like that I was able to move files and free some space on my phone. Also works great with my laptop as well. I just love how convenient it was to transfer files between my phone and the portable ssd. Definitely happy with my purchase!

Bought these drives for my Laptop, PS5 and Xbox Series X. Very fast drives for use with consoles and laptop. I did notice a little speed difference when transferrring files on my PC and with my Laptop, while both have the same USB 3.2 interface it was a little slower on the laptop; still fast but slower than my PC. On the consoles they are speedy little drives with ample storage for all your games. Xbox did feel faster when moving games from either the internal storage or the storage card than the PS5 did moving files from the internal storage or the addon storage, again still fast and better than using an old mechanical drive. Just wish they had one in Green so I could have a blue for the PS5 and Green for the Series X, but black will work. These are perfect for consoles since they are a little more rugged than the standard T7 drives so if you have kids who use your consoles these are a good choice.

After using the side for awhile now ive had absolutely no issues the 1 bad thing ive had happen is the silicone case on it has like warped but it doesnt effect anything and id still buy the ssd agian it has more then enough storage for all of my uses and is compatible with all the devices I need it to be like phones pc ect ect and transfers stuff pretty fast I cant complain

I bought a Samsung Galaxy Book ultra Laptop and as a gift I brought a T7 Shield. At first it was like something I didn't need. But now I can't imagine not having it. I love the security you have by not letting you access the data without a password. Now I have my important work of secure and secure programming. I can't believe how much storage this thing has! It's a total game-changer for my PC gaming. Loading times are insanely fast now. No more staring at loading screens forever! Highly recommend it if you're looking for an upgrade in storage capacity. Now on the not gaming side still recommend it loads up quick and moving files from a phone to the PC is also quick.

This is one of the best 4 neck pain body. Pain is extremely durable. Hypoallergenic I'm a hot sleeper and it keeps me cool at night. Which helps me sleep better. The portability is amazing. You can take it on vacation. Because it has a resistance to stains like coffee or anything else you would spill in your bed. And that's the performance I need from it

I got the SSD at the same time I bought the Galaxy Book 4 Ultra. Super fast data transfer (like super fast) and ample storage volume. It has saved me multiple times since I work in Data Science and often need to copy a large amount of data to my personal laptop. Besides, the SSD is compact so it's easy to carry around. Couldn't be happy more about it.

I got a pretty good dral on this drive a year ago and I really like it. It has enough capacity to store whatever I need and the performance is just mindblowing. Also I like how it's durable and like the possibility of encrypting the data. Comes with 2 cables, which makes easy to connect to both to my laptop and to my galaxy s22 ultra.

Durability is what I needed and thank God these got that covered! I used to have a Toshiba but it disconnected and fell to the floor leaving me with a loft expense to get my data recovered. I switched to the T7 shield and so far I've had no issues! (And im prone to dropping things so this one has definitely taken a few tumbles.

I bought this when I bought my Samsung laptop so I could have somewhere to store my pictures and files. I like how short and skinny it is considering that it is two terabytes. I also like the material that it is made out of as it is pretty soft and won't slide around. I think everybody needs a portable solid state drive.

I received this today and plugged it into my laptop 10 seconds DONE. Full system backup. On my other Samsung older version it took 10 to 15 minutes, for the approx mb backup it has to be the Magician software. That's Samsung..they always have Customer convenience, service and outstanding products with us in mind.

I've always used samsung for a USB flash drives in the past, and inches present I had the ssd T7 a while ago and recently the T7 shield and all are still working and keeping my data safe. And the othe brand have failed me miserable, I would not risk my data ever again, staying with samsung

Bought this for storage of my online games since I barely have storage on my gaming laptop. I'm the last year, I've only had one hiccup with it. Turned out to be a broken connection cord and not the SSD itself. There is no delay from the drive to the computer. Works like a charm.

I love this device and love the fact that it's as simple as put my thumb on the print reader then my computer or phone will show it's contents. Prior to unlocking it, the device shows up on the computer but says it's empty. I was curious how it was handled so that answered that.

I bought this product in March 2024snd it has been greatin storing my drone footage. I also use Samsung Micro SD cards. The dr8ve is fast in terms of transfer of data. My PC is 500g and with the dron footage, the memory is just not enough. This drive is reliable and strong!
