While using your Galaxy Buds, the battery consumption of the left and right earbuds may differ, or one earbud may run out of battery first. The battery consumption of each earbud can be different for various reasons. This guide will tell you more about the Galaxy Bud's battery consumption.

Before you try out the recommendations below, be sure to check if your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Settings > Software update.

Step 2. Tap on Download and install.

Step 3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

The master device may consume more battery power

One earbud of the Galaxy Buds operates as the master device, and the earbud that works as the main one consumes battery power faster than the other. The master device may interchange between the left earbud or the right earbud depending on the usage environment.

Battery consumption may vary depending on earbud usage

The battery consumption of the left and right earbuds may differ depending on whether you mainly wear one side while using the Galaxy Buds, or due to Bluetooth confusion. Depending on your calls, media listening, volume, and other usage patterns, the battery of both earbuds may be consumed differently. So, the left and right earbuds' battery life may differ depending on the usage pattern and circumstances. This is not a malfunction of the device.

Check the battery life in the Galaxy Wearable app

If your Galaxy Buds are connected to your phone, you can check the battery level of the Galaxy Buds in the Galaxy Wearable app. This battery indicator may show the battery life of each earbud separately or show only the lower battery level of the two earbuds.

Only one battery level shown

  • When there is no difference or only a slight difference in battery levels between the left and right earbuds, only the lower battery level is shown.
