Using the Gallery app on my Samsung device

Your phone hold's special memories of your life and there's so much more you can do within the Gallery app like creating albums of your most recent holiday, making GIFS, movies and collages that can be share with your Family and friends. Follow the below guide to learn how to create albums, collages, GIFs, Movies and so much more!

 

Please Note: Screenshots were captured from a Galaxy S10 operating on Android OS Version 9.0 (Pie), settings and steps may vary depending on your Galaxy device and Android OS Version.

1 Head into the Gallery app

2 Scroll up on your Gallery to view Videos, Favourites, Locations and Suggested

1 Head into your Gallery and tap on a photo
2 Tap the heart icon to set as a Favourite
Select a photo and tap the heart icon
3 Head back to the Gallery main page and select Favourites

For Galaxy devices operating on Android OS Version 9.0 (Pie), you will need to scroll up the screen to view your favourites album. For Galaxy devices operating on Android OS Version 8.0 (Oreo) & 7.0 (Nougat) your favourites album will be automatically created once you have tapped on the heart icon on a photo or video. You will be able access your favourites through Albums > Favourites.

4 You will then be able to view all your saved Favourites

1 Select Albums and tap on the 3 dots

2 Select Create Album

3 Name your Album then tap Create
Name your Album then tap Create
4 Select your new Album and begin to add photos and videos

5 Once you have selected the images and videos tap Done

1 Tap on Albums

2 Tap on the Album the photo or video is stored

3 Long press the photo or video you would like to move
Long press the photo to select
4 Tap on three dots icon
Tap on the three dots
5 Select Move to album
Tap on Move to Album
6 Choose a album you would like to move your photo/video into
Choose where you would like to move the image
7 Allow the image transfer to reach 100%

8 Once the transfer is complete head back to your Albums and tap on the album you recently moved your image or video to

9 You should be able to view your transferred image within the Album

1 Once you have deleted a file in your Gallery, it will pop up in your Recycling Bin. This will allow you to restore any files that was accidentially deleted or completely empty your Recycling Bin.

Please Note: The Recycling Bin is subject to the Android OS Version. You will first need to enable and allow permissions to start using the recycling bin, if any files are sitting in the recycling bin for more than 15 days, they will automatically be deleted.

2 Head back to your Gallery and tap on the 3 dots
Tap the 3 dots
3 Select Recycling Bin
Select Create Movie
4 You will then be able to view all files stored in your Recycling Bin. If you would like to empty your entire Recycling Bin, select Empty

If you have accidentially deleted a file and wish to restore it, select the file.

5 To restore an image, tap the Restore icon

If you're looking to get a bit more creative with your photos and videos you can create mini movies, GIFs and Collages to post on your friends timeline for they're birthdays.

1 Head into the Gallery app
Head into your Gallery
2 Tap the 3 dots
Tap the 3 dots
3 Select Create Movie
Select Create Movie
4 Select the files you would like to add in your movie then tap Create Movie
Tap on the files you would like to add in your movie then tap Create Movie
5 Tap on the the paintbrush, Text, Music and the playback video to customise your movie.

Once complete, select the Save button.
Tap the 4 main editing options to finalise your movie tap save
1 Once you have captured your burst of photos, head into the Gallery app and select the 3 dots
Tap the 3 dots
2 Select Create GIF
Select Create Movie
3 Select the images to add into your GIF then tap on Create GIF
Select the images to add into your GIF then ta on Create GIF
4 Select the editing options below your gif then tap Save to apply the changes

  playback icon  Allows you to Add and remove different images within your GIF. You can also swap and change the order of each picture by long pressing and dragging the image

  Picture Ratio Icon  Let's you change the picture ratio from 1:1, 4:3, 16:9 or 9:16

  Speed icon  Allows you to speed up or slow down the GIF starting from 1-15

  reverse arrow icon  Can change the layout direction to reverse or loop your GIF

  Edit icon  Allows you to add Stickers, Text and Draw on your GIF

1 Head into the Gallery app

2 Tap the 3 dots

3 Select Create Collage
Select Create Collage
4 Select the images to add into your Collage then tap on Create Collage

5 Select your preferred Grid, swap and change the photo layout by long pressing the image and dragging into a different box.

Once complete tap Save

1 Select the photo you would like to draw on

2 Tap on Edit icon > draw icon
Tap on the edit > drawing icon
3 Using your finger or S Pen start drawing on your photo, once complete tap on Save

4 Once saved you will be able to view in your Gallery

1 Tap on 3 dots > Settings

2 Toggle on Go to websites

3 Once you have captured a screenshot of a website, locate and select the image within your Gallery then tap on Go to Websites
tap on go to website
4 So long as you are connected to either a Wi-Fi or Mobile data connection, you will be able to load the website on your default internet browsing app.
