How to connect your Samsung Music Studio with multiple devices

Last Update date : Jun 15. 2026

Samsung Music Studio can connect to various devices including TVs, mobile devices, and soundbars through Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, and optical cable. With Group Play, you can play the same music simultaneously across multiple speakers, or set up Stereo mode to enjoy a wider sound stage.

Screen and Images are simulated.

You can group multiple Samsung audio devices together using the Samsung Sound app. Once grouped, you can choose between Stereo mode or Group Play mode depending on your listening preference. There are two ways to set up a group: manually selecting devices, or using the auto-recommendation feature.

Connection requirements:

- Your WiFi Speaker must be registered in the Samsung Sound app.

- At least two audio devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network at 5 GHz.

- This is available on Samsung Sound devices that support Wi-Fi released year 2023 or later.

Play using Stereo Pair

Stereo pair splits audio into left and right channels across two WiFi Speakers of the same model, delivering a wider sound stage.

Two WiFi Speakers placed on each side of a TV

Stereo Pair connection examples:

  • Only the same types of WiFi speakers can be set as a Stereo.
    - Music Studio 5 ↔ Music Studio 5: available
    - Music Studio 5 ↔ Music Studio 7: not available

Note:

  • The WiFi Speaker which is connected to the TV will automatically become the host device.
  • You can connect the TV to the host WiFi Speaker using an optical cable, HDMI cable, or Bluetooth.

Play using Group Play

Group Play allows you to play the same music simultaneously across up to 10 Samsung audio devices. You can add not only WiFi Speakers but also other types of Samsung sound devices such as soundbars to the group.

Multiple speakers arranged in a group layout

Group Play connection examples:

- Music Studio 7 + Music Studio 5 + 2026 Soundbar → Different types of devices can be grouped together

- Multiple Music Studio 5 units → Place in different rooms and play the same music simultaneously

Note:

  • You can add a maximum of 10 devices.
  • With Group Play, the audio will be output through the host device alone.
  • When a device connected to the host device switches to a different source, the device will be deleted from the group automatically.
  • When the host device is connected to a TV, the generated group will be deleted automatically.
  • This feature does not support TV sound.
  • Group Play is currently available only on 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Support for 2.4 GHz networks is planned to be available later this year. A product software update will be required to enable Group Play on 2.4 GHz networks.

Music Studio can connect to a TV in various ways. Select the appropriate connection method based on your TV and WiFi Speaker model.

Connecting by Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi connection is available only on Samsung TV. Connect the TV and WiFi Speaker to the same wireless network (Wi-Fi).

Step 1. Open Settings on your TV and select All Settings.

Step 2. Select Sound.

Step 3. Select Sound Output.

Step 4. Select Music Studio.

Note:

  • Samsung TVs released in 2017 or later: Sound → Sound Output → Music Studio
  • Check whether the wireless router (Wi-Fi) is turned on and the TV is connected to the router.
  • If your wireless router (Wi-Fi) uses a DFS channel, you will not be able to establish a Wi-Fi connection between the TV and WiFi Speaker.

Connecting by Bluetooth

When a Samsung TV is connected using Bluetooth, you can hear stereo sound without the hassle of cabling.

Step 1. Press Mic On/Off button on the WiFi Speaker for 3 seconds or longer.

Step 2. Select Bluetooth Speaker List on the Samsung TV.

(Home → Settings → All Settings → Sound → Sound Output → Bluetooth Speaker List)

Step 3. From the list on the TV screen, select the WiFi speaker (Music Studio) you want to register.

Note:

  • Only one Samsung TV can be connected at a time.
  • Samsung TV that supports Bluetooth can be connected.
  • If you later switch the WiFi Speaker mode to Bluetooth, the TV will automatically reconnect.

Connecting by Bluetooth

When a mobile device is connected using Bluetooth, you can hear stereo sound without the hassle of cabling.

Step 1. Press Mic On/Off button on the WiFi Speaker for 3 seconds or longer.

Step 2. On your device, select Music Studio from the list that appears.

Step 3. Play music files from the device connected by Bluetooth through the WiFi Speaker.

Note:

  • When connecting to a new Bluetooth device, make sure the device is within 3.28 ft (1 m) distance.
  • If asked for a PIN code when connecting a Bluetooth device, enter <0000>.
  • The WiFi Speaker automatically turns off after 18 minutes in the Ready state.

Connecting to Apple AirPlay

With AirPlay, you can enjoy music, podcasts, and other audio on your Samsung WiFi Speaker, right from your Apple devices.

Note:

  • To enable AirPlay in your WiFi Speaker, you must first register the device with the Samsung Sound app by agreeing with the app's terms and conditions.
  • To use AirPlay with your Samsung WiFi Speaker, the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS is recommended.

Step 1. Make sure the WiFi Speaker is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple device.

Step 2. Select the AirPlay icon from an AirPlay-supported app or Control Center on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Step 3. Select the WiFi Speaker from the list of available devices to play the current audio to.

Note:

  • If you connect your WiFi Speaker to a mobile device while the WiFi Speaker is connected to the TV, the WiFi Speaker outputs sound from the mobile device while keeping the TV connection. So the TV sound will not be delivered anywhere. Disconnect the mobile device, and the TV sound will be output from the WiFi Speaker again.
  • If the WiFi Speaker is playing the TV sound, the connection to the TV is disconnected when creating a group.
  • Music Studio 7 (HW-LS7*H) mode switching order: TV ARC → Wi-Fi → Bluetooth → Digital Audio In
  • Music Studio 5 (HW-LS5*H) mode switching order: Wi-Fi → Bluetooth → Digital Audio In
